Well the year of 2011 is when I actually thought about real estate. Watching the first couple of episodes of ‘The Property Brothers’ I was hooked on the thought of flipping and selling my own houses. Really just the thought of being self employed and not working a hourly paying job was the icing on the cake. The job duties and personal characteristics for a real estate agent are really good for me personally which I will discuss. Education and the work setting will also benefit me in many ways. The wages and employment outlook really don't apply to me which I will also touch bases on. At this point I will begin to analyze the research I’ve obtained on the occupation of real estate. First lets talk about the job duties and personal characteristics for a real estate agent. You have to work with property buyers to help them navigate the nature of the property market. Agents must talk to clients to find out what kind of property they are looking for, what they're willing to sell or pay, and if they're looking for anything special in the property. As a real estate agent you should have a problem solver mind set, be self motivated, have hustle and tenacity, have an engaging personality, some type of interest in houses, and have a understanding in the housing market. A real estate agent needs to complete a real estate training program to become listened. A bachelors in real estate is actually equivalent to a real estate license. You also need at lest 1-3 years of sales experience to work under someone. Well a normal work setting for a real estate agent would be about 40 hours a week, but since I will be self employed I will control my schedule.
