Reading Experience at Starbucks On Friday September 8, 2017, I decided to go to Starbucks because my sister want to see the “IT” movie with her friend. I thought to myself, What good way to begin my writing assignment. The movie was going to start at 4:10 pm, so we had about one hour to spare. I walk with my sister across the street to the nearest Starbucks. Upon entering Starbuck, it was very noisy and crowded with people everyone sitting on the chairs. The unpleasant smell of coffee beans hit my face as I passed through the tables. In my mind, I wished that no one talk to me or bother me and everything would be fine. My sister sighing loudly because she could not find a place to put a charger, asked me what I was doing. I asked her to go order me any drink because I did not know what to order. Also that I only drink coffee once a month because I remember from my high school science fair that coffee damages the liver. I began rereading Seedfolks and glanced at my sister waiting in line. In reality, I want to move further away from the loud student talking on her phone and the table was also sticky. I wasn’t able to focus on reading Seedfolk, every second that passed there was an obnoxious sound of chairs being dragged on the floor, conversations of nearby people talking about their lives, and tapping noises on the computer. In front of me, there was a man on his computer doing his homework, looking at his book, he was a nursing major. To the side of me, my sister playing on her phone, hyper-focusing on her game. We meet eyes then she asked me if I was going to drink the coffee. I asked her what coffee is it and she replied, “Ice cappuccino or something like that.” I sniff the coffee and could not smell anything. I took a sip and a bitter taste rushed through my mouth. My sister said as she still stared at her phone, “ Bitter, right? It tastes nasty, I should have order water instead because this cost me about $4.” I continued to read Seedfolks again and I was on Maricella’s story, until I was disturbed by a conversation between two high school student behind me.
