In my humble opinion, track and field is one of the best sports on this planet. You can’t rely on others to motivate you, your performance is either made or broken by yourself. But the team itself is also amazingly important to making the experience that much more fun and worth-while. There’s a place for everybody, people who come from all different backgrounds in so many different ways all can find their place and event in track. Track and field has been a huge part of my life for the past 5 years, and I wouldn’t take those years and memories back for anything.

I started running track and field in 7th grade. And that is to this day one of the best decisions I have ever made. As it led me not only to an amazing high school track team but to the Park Flyers track club. …show more content…

I was trying to get ready for the mile and wanted to train on a more secluded track, so we went to Saint Louis Park. We were asked to leave as they had a practice that time. Flash forward a year, there I was at that practice. A few years later, 2016, I was voted by the board to be a junior board member and captain. I have learned not only how to be a leader of the team, but what it means to be a board member. In regards to being a team captain. I have been involved in establishing team potlucks to help bring everyone closer together. I have helped schedule fundraisers like the annual Park Flyers Car Wash. In regards to board member responsibilities, I attend monthly board meetings and state my opinion and input on both new and old business. One of my most important contributions to date is when the Club lost the use of its indoor facilities. I stated that it sounded as though the size of our club was the issue, so why not split up the practices into smaller groups in order to get around this. Which is what the Park Flyers track club actually ended up doing to make this season
