Why 2016 is the Perfect Time to Start a Nursing Career?

Are you looking for a career in nursing? If yes, then here’s the good news for you. As per the BLS (Bureau of Labor Statistics) - from the year 2012 to 2022, 19% growth in the job market is expected for the RNs, as compared to 11% growth in all the jobs in other sectors.

However, there’s a twist attached to it. The job market is favoring qualified, specialized and experienced nurses. This became clearly evident during the recent recession when entry-level nurses had a tough time finding a suitable job. In short, despite the nursing shortage throughout the world, employers prefer most qualified candidates. Thus, we can say that there has never been a better time to start a nursing career.

Additionally, the need to find the replacement for retiring nurses is putting pressure on hospitals to hire new nurses with some clinical experience and specialization.

Again, an increase in the aging population directly correlates to a rise in chronic conditions that demands extended and continuous care. Patients suffering from chronic diseases are expected to need more medical attention. Thus resulting in more demand of healthcare staff. All this is further going to add up to the current shortage of nurses. Going for a nursing specialization at this point of time will open up the doors of opportunities by the mid of next year.
