In 2001, United Sates Representative Jim Kolbe proposed a legislation to Congress to dispose the penny coin from the currency of America because of its small impact. Although his legislation failed, most people currently argue about the penny’s existence today. Even though the penny stood as a mark of history, it is useless and should be eliminated from America’s currency. In America’s modern day economy, the penny is very useless and irrelevant in our society today. As source C states, “The time has come to abolish the outdated, almost worthless, bothersome, and wasteful penny.” There is not one item that can be purchased with a penny anymore (Source C). As source C states, “it takes nearly a dime to buy what a penny bought back in 1950.” Stores such as the Dollar Store prove how the cheapest items you can purchase are with only a dollar, not a cent. Pennies are shoved out of the economic picture by credit cards and because of the modern-day technology, there are even self-service machines that help convert coins into paper money (Source B). Each month the U.S. mint produces one billion pennies a month. It would be better off to abolish the invaluable penny than to waste employees’ time in the government producing the little annoyances. Awarded the prestigious honor to remain forever engraved on the twenty dollar bill, Andrew Jackson became a figure in American history never forgotten. Future generations of younger students will not need to know Andrew for them to assume he was a great man. Unfortunately, the ignorance of idolizing Jackson because he appears on American currency serves to blanket the realities of his administration. Jackson should be removed from the twenty dollar bill.

Matter of fact, it was around so long ago that Abraham Lincoln’s face was not the first design on the penny. I ask that you take the time to consider the American penny’s worth. Without the people’s belief in its value, the penny will be abolished. I see people every day throwing away a penny rather than to put it in their pocket and save it for future uses. Yes a penny is "outdated, almost worthless, bothersome and wasteful" (Safire) piece of junk, but it's has an economic, cultural, and historical significance to the United States of America. The problem is that nobody pays attention to that, and that gives pennies the image of no value. Three good solutions to show the pennies worth include: tolls and vending machines accepting the coin, more charities to keep their penny drives, and historical evidence of what the penny mean to America so that it can be passed on to the future generations.

Andrew Jackson’s presidency could easily be described as one of the most controversial ones of all time. Honoring Jackson by putting his face on the 20 dollar bill in 1928 was an absolute mistake for the country. Jackson does not deserve his existing place on the 20 dollar bill. His policies towards the “Spoils System”, Native Americans, and Vetoes can all establish why Jackson is so unworthy of praise. Jackson’s abuse of power throughout his entire presidency makes him the perfect target for a deserved hatred from the American people.
By many aspects the one dollar note will just be a symbol of America and the American wealth, however we will see that it can convey way more than that. First and foremost, the one dollar note, is something judged to be common knowledge, everybody can approximately see what it looks like and they will not look in depth of what can be one of the most symbolic items of the United States of America. First printed in 1863, the dollar note was here to represent an abstract, yet know by everyone, money. Before then, coins were just the symbolic way of representing money.

Barack Obama, the former president of the United States, said that the penny is a symbol of government waste. The penny should be abolished because it is harmful to the environment during production, wastes the government’s money, and is of no use in any useful machines in our current day.
Your average American walking down 2nd street will see a penny on the ground and not bother to stop. You walk into your local store and you always see that one jar that is just asking to collect pennies. This is because people see no use for the American penny. The first American penny was established in 1787 and it was 100 percent copper. In the 1950’s Americans could go down to the local candy shop and buy piece of candy for a cent. Now with one cent Americans can’t buy anything. Americans are finding creative ways to throw out all of their pennies. This is why America should abandon the penny.

In recent years there has been questioning by the american citizens about Andrew Jackson's qualifications. I agree that a man responsible for genocide and economic tolls on the country should not be represented on the bill.
