Introduction
Correction has now moved from that of retributive to rehabilitative and doing so has also implemented certain institutions to assist in the rehabilitation process. Such institutions involve offer two basic service called ‘probation and parole’. Probation and Parole are very similar in that they are both dealing with someone who has broken the law and is a substitute to incarceration; both systems are used by judges in dealing with offenders. Probation deals with offenders before they enter the prison system and it is called a suspension of sentence. This sentence is handed down to you by a judge (Abadinsky, 2012). Once a judge sanction your probation you are assigned a probation officer and you are now known as the probationer until you have successfully completed your requirements as ordered by the judge; then you will be released from your service.
Parole comes into effect when someone has been granted early released from prison with certain conditions that they need to adhere. When individuals are granted parole you are assigned a parole officer whose task is your supervision; you are known as the parolee. Similar to probation you are given conditions to follow and you must follow these terms otherwise you can be in violation of your parole which can send you back to prison (Abadinsky, 2012).
Conditions for offenders, the probationer and parolee are similar in that they both may be required to be employed, imposed curfew, rehabilitative programs [A.A., drug programs, and anger management], electronic monitoring, restitution payments, and supervision.
In this module it is my intention to design a parole module that will assist in the rehabilitation corrections process of the offender. There are two models;...

... for your case to be eligible to go before the parole board. Some of these requirements are: the type of crime committed the nature of the crime, criminal history, the person age, corrections department record, and drug or alcohol abuse. Once convicted for murder or rape you will not be eligible for parole. With the parole officer periodically visiting they will be better equipped in making a decision of who should be granted parole for the purpose of rehabilitation and those that just ‘want to get out’. To also assist in being granted a chance of parole the offender file while incarcerated will also be taken into consideration and will be properly screened thus ensuring that if that person is granted parole they will not just be a case of recidivism. While inmates are expected to be on good behavior the points from that will only be acknowledged (Abadinsky, 2012).
