Most people believe that paranormal phenomena is not real scientific research, but It can actually be argued that it is real scientific research. Although, what is paranormal phenomena? Paranormal events are phenomena described in popular culture, folk, and other non-scientific bodies of knowledge whose existence within these contexts is described to lie beyond normal experience or scientific explanation. Even though these experiences lie beyond the ordinary plenty of people have had encounters with this and scientific research is the way to figure out exactly what these people are experiencing.
Some people believe and a reason of others do not always believe in the paranormal. It is because some people fake their experiences. It is important

It turns out that paranormal believers are right to accept the reality of at least some anomalous phenomena. This review examines two formidable books presenting evidence and preliminary theory for such apparent impossibilities.
All in all, the paranormal is a very touchy subject with this debate. There will always be things that are not able to be explained in the world of the paranormal. With the help of scientific research the people can get closer and closer to actually knowing what the paranormal actually is and the things behind the experiences people have. There will always be debate on the truth of the paranormal. Although, most people believe paranormal phenomena is scientific research, there are still people out there who do not even believe in the paranormal at all.
There is really no explanation for why things happen that we consider to be paranormal. Haunted houses, spirits, demons, possessions, exorcisms, but yet we all still know these things exist. People have a paranormal experience everyday. Paranormal phenomena has every right to be considered scientific research. Nobody knows the real truth about what happens so that is why we have people to research it. Scientists research this. Everyone has different beliefs on this subject and not everyone believes, but it is real and scientists are out there researching and discovering the truth of what is really happening in the paranormal world so that our people can know the truth of what it is
... Filban’s experience is true or not. It might not be believable in some perspectives, but there is one thing that is true. This experience is unexplained, so it can be described as supernatural. Until proven different, Filban did have a supernatural experience. Just because the evidence is not apparent, and no one else witnessed it, the story can still be deemed supernatural.
The book, What’s So Super About the Supernatural tells of well known stories about poltergeists. A poltergeist is a noisy or high energy ghost who might perform violent activity. A young girl by the name of Tina Resch lived in Ohio and is known to be a poltergeist. “No ghost was ever seen or heard on camera; however when the camera was inadvertently left running, the tape showed Tina surreptitiously pulling over a lamp” (Gardner). The evidence was found after people were reporting the activity. Newspaper reporters went to the scene to check out the action only to find evidence of Tina throwing objects violently around the house. Another example of proof that ghosts exist goes back to a case involving a poltergeist in England. An eleven-year-old boy by the name of Matthew Manning performed several violent actions that his dad had noticed and reported. Gardner writes, “ On one occasion, Matthew’s bed was thrown about and left leaning at an angle against the wall” (Gardner). These examples are not the only reported cases regarding ghosts and paranormal activity. Many stories about the supernatural have been told and passed down for several generations. Spirits are even mentioned in well known religious books that have been passed down for hundreds of
A prime example of this is when they “exterminated” the ghosts from the hotel but when in reality they didn’t do anything but damage the walls and chandelier. Some of the things that I have learned is that there’s no way to prove that they indeed removed the ghosts from any of the places that they worked on; there is no way to prove any of the topics of parapsychology through the scientific method. Unlike other scientific fields, this sort paranormal phenomena lacks the ability to follow such natural laws, such as gravity or conservation of mass and energy. In parapsychology, it is almost impossible to use adequate theoretical evidence to back your support because parapsychology lacks the scientific background that is needed. This type of phenomena is referred to anomalous phenomena Our class analyzed how the very popular story of the “Amityvillle Horror” was a made up story. The story claims to have talked to policemen, but when the police were asked about the family, the truth finally came out. They didn’t even know who the family living in the house was at that time. Since I am now more educated about ghosts and parapsychology, in general, I was able to depict areas
Paranormal Activity originated in the United States. Paranormal activity is a word that we have new ever since the 1920s (Fort,1994). The word or prefix means abnormal, or alongside of. The word normal means standard to common type of person. The word paranormal has come from two-word Pará and normal. Paranormal means things are not normal people do not know what is going on. Like scientists have no clue of what the world has to offer, so they just label it paranormal activity (Ford,1994 pg 1). The categories of paranormal activity are classification such as ghost, Bigfoot, and even the moth man these are some of the many that paranormal classify. So basically paranormal activity is things people think are there, but cannot prove that it exists.
Science on the other hand takes a testable hypothesis and is tested in controlled experiments with something measurable and or recordable. You can repeat the test to get the exact same results, whereas in pseudoscience, tests would never be the same.
The a single point that is needed is the cooperating work between the person who is living and the person who is in spirit. Numerous skeptics assert that mediumship c...
Paranormal activity is manifestation that lies outside of the normal experience which can’t be proven to be real. Most people have become interested in the haunted houses and stones due to the lack of support that they are getting from the community of science. The lack of support from the community will be hard to get because most people do not believe in this. According to the unknown, “paranormal activities and sightings usually fall into categories: spirituals entities, crytids, which are organisms whose existence is told by legends and myths.” Most people think that paranormal deal with just ghost and their hauntings but it is much more than that. Paranormal phenomena are not accepted by the scientists because they feel the evidence should be required. According to Psychic Readings, "ESP stands for extra sensory perception. While clairvoyance, or seeing clearly is primarily an optional phenomenon." A clairvoyant psychic is someone who shares a vision of unseen in telling about their health or future. "Clairvoyants are people who specialize in supernatural skills," states Psychics Reading. People like this have a magical ability to see into the past, present, and future. ESP is normally addresses as the sixth sense. "The term 'ESP' was used often in 1870 by Sir Richard Burton." Psychical research does not support that everyone is born with this capability. It is said there are people who have experienced at least one ESP in their lifetime. However to Schmeidler, another theory claims that ESP is a super sense which evolves in the nervous system. From David’s perspective, “hundreds of years ago to possess the gift of clairvoyance, one was considered a witch - as unknown knowledge was 'feared' (the emotion which keeps us trappe...
The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines divination as, “the art or practice that seeks to foresee or foretell future events or discover hidden knowledge, usually by the interpretation of omens or by the aid of supernatural powers.” However, many choose to define it as a scam, without taking into account whether or not divination is actually an example of the supernatural at play. As a result, the practice and belief in divination have varied widely throughout history; in fact, the people who believe/practice it have been called everything from witches and con artists, to gods on earth. Nevertheless, whether or not the science behind divination can be proven, the continuing belief in the ¨unknowns¨ represented by it are alive and well.
Paranormal activity better known as parapsychology is a non-fictional idea. Parapsychology is the scientific study of interactions between living organisms and their external environment that seem to transcend the known physical laws of nature. (Teresi, 2000) The Society of Psychical Research was established in London in 1882 (Teresi, 2000). Major parapsychological studies had not begun appearing in mainstream scientific journals until the sixties and early seventies (Teresi, 2000).“Furthermore, groups such as the Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal (CSICOP) which publishes the Skeptical Inquirer and the James Randi Educational Foundation (JREF) have been formed to disseminate credible information on the paranormal. Credibility should be less of a problem in the future” (Teresi, 2000).
Paranormal Activity is similar to pseudoscience and involves experiences outside of science (Hines, 2003). However, there is another side to these strange occurrences which includes UFOs, alien contact, and the appearance of unusual creatures. According to Imbrogno (2008) “No matter how skeptical you are, there are three things that cannot be denied: that reports of paranormal experiences exist, that they persist, and they are increasingly occurring on a global scale” (pg.16). According to Hines (2003) “Paranormal phenomena includes extrasensory perception (ESP), telekinesis, ghosts, poltergeists, life after death, reincarnation, faith healing, human auras, and so forth” (pg.20). The term UFOs, unidentified flying objects, is the reported sighting of any object or arrangement of lights that do not have a logical or natural explanation. The first reported incident in America occurred in 1947, when an amateur pilot, Kenneth Arnold, made claims of a sighting while flying his small plane near Mount Rainier in Washington which caused the U.S. government to begin searching for extraterrestrials (Stephey, 2009). Moreover, Chinese texts from the 4th century make claims of a “moon boat” that visited once every 12 years hovering above the country to become the earliest sighting in recorded history (Stephey, 2009). Although issues such as speed, shape, and size continues to differs, the U.S. Air Force commissioned Project Blue Book, an official record of sights that occurred in the U.S. from 1952 to 1969 logging over 12,000 sightings or events involving UFOs.
There are many conspiracies that people say have happened at the Roswell crash in the summer of 1947 in Roswell New Mexico. Nobody knows what really happened at the crash in Roswell New Mexico but, many people say that the thing that had crashed there was a UFO and or a flying saucer which mean there being aliens. Even after 50 years the people still do not know what happened and for everybody that doesn’t know were going to go deeper into what really happened. This incident had caused a lot of chaos with the Air force and the people.
Everyone has a slightly different interpretation of the supernatural but the interpretation which we can start with is Shakespeare’s. Everyone of Shakespeare’s time found the supernatural fascinating. Shakespeare interpreted the supernatural as witches, magic, unnatural and evil and he expressed his beliefs in the play, “Macbeth” very clearly, as he portrayed the three deformed women with control over the weather and the ability to predict the future. These three evil witches with magical powers were the creation of Shakespeare’s interpretation of the supernatural. Shakespeare’s contemporaries believed in the supernatural very strongly and a majority of them were frightened of it, including the king of that time, King James I of England.
Whether we choose to believe in the paranormal or not, we all have to realize that. There are many strange things that happen to all of us that are unexplainable. The history of paranormal existence has been around since the beginning of time. The paranormal is not what most people believe it is, “ghosts”.
There are numerous amounts of myths and folktales, which not only frighten people but leave them in wonder. Is it best to believe or not to believe? The thought of the unknown has convinced some that the myth is real or exists. Movies and other media tools play a factor in convincing individuals into believing.Creatures are portrayed as dangerous and hideous beasts so that is what the social world believes. For others that is not enough, seeing cold hard evidence is the only sufficient way of believing in the myths. Getting this evidence is the tough part; some mysterious creatures only rarely appear and some never do. Believing could only be a matter of being in that lucky spot at the right moment where the mysterious creature appears. Mysterious creatures come in all shapes and forms, and from many walks of life. They have been illustrated and has been the main point of stories ever since the Egyptian times, medieval times, and before. Across the globe are creatures with a variety of names, some more famous than others; Bigfoot or Sasquatch, Loch Ness or Nessi, and Chupacabra are some of the most talked about and feared creatures. Only a few are known worldwide but there are many known in local areas. The most famous creature not from this world are aliens. Evidence of aliens has been around as long as the other creatures, with many sightings and very few encounters. Stories of all of these creatures are spread around and sometimes altered into what is recorded. Drawings and illustrations of mysterious creatures have been found on ancient Egyptian walls and medieval stories.
