atsby, Bud and Warren all have a common desire: they love attractive women. Gatsby’s love for Daisy began when he was a young military officer in Louisville, but when he left to fight in World War I, she married Tom Buchanan. Then, when the wealthy Gatsby reappears in West Egg, she must choose who she loves more. Rather, Bud, a young cold caller who strikes a new job that earns him millions, meets the love of his life Darien who only cares about his money. Warren has passionate feelings for Bernice but when she bobs her hair, Warren’s love for her suddenly declines. Aristotle Onassis, a greek shipping magnate once said that “if women didn't exist, all the money in the world would have no meaning.” Through texts and motion pictures in America, women are seen as a luxury who only care about looks and money. In Wall Street, Bud Fox’s life completely flips upside down when he was offered to work with Gordon Gekko. Going from a cold caller, who makes adequate salary, to a billionaires “side kick” really messes with Bud’s life as now, he is around wealthier people. One night, at Gekko’s penthouse in Manhattan, Bud notices a very attractive interior designer named Darien Taylor. Gekko then says “I’m going to make you rich, Bud Fox, rich enough you can afford a girl like Darien”. The fact that Gekko says women can be bought is just preposterous. Women should be cared and loved for, not just seen as a luxury that comes along with wealth. Gekko is saying that attractive women only like wealthy men. He also is inferring that wealthy men like women who are all about looks and beauty. Darien is an example of someone who is all about looks. For god’s sake, she is an interior designer. Everything about her is apperance, who she is with, what ... ... middle of paper ... ... women knocking at their doors. Two examples of “hunted partridges” are Gatsby and Bud because women are constantly hunting them for their wealth. Through the movie Wall Street, the book the Great Gatsby and the short story Bernice Bobs her Hair, women are seen as luxuries who only care about money and their looks. From these pieces, one can determine that wealthy men are being hunted for by women. Also, the women that go after the wealthy men, like Darien and Daisy, care about their looks. They also have this feeling of needing money. The sad part is that wealthy men, like Bud, find great pleasure in having an attractive “little fool” in their life and it continues to drive them in getting more money so that they can continue to live this wonderful and luxurious life. Money is life and for some people, life is having an attractive, greedy and luxurious partner.
