Continue reading to find out the amazing things happened to Padre Pio. Padre Pio impacted Church History. Padre Pio was a very holy person in his childhood and adulthood. On May 25th, 1887, St, Pio was named after his brother; Francesco Forgione (padrepiodevotions.org). He was born in Pietrelcina, Italy. His parents were Grazio Mario Forgione and Maria Giuseppa Di Nunzio Forgione. Padre had five siblings; two brothers and three sisters. His brothers had the names of; Francesco-who died in early infancy, and Michele. His sisters were named; Felicita, Pellegrina, and Grazia (www.ewtn.com). Padre was very holy and faithful as a young child. His mother said that he was very quiet and loved going to mass. When he was five years old, he dedicated his life to God, and felt drawn to the priesthood. Along with his love for the love of his faith, he loved learning about his faith. Pio didn’t just one day wake up and think, “I’m going to be a priest.” He had some influence throughout his life. The people who influenced him include:Mary, Jesus, and St. Francis of Assisi. Not only was St. Pio able to see and communicate with his guardian angel, but also Jesus and the Virgin Mary (padrepiodevotions.org). Just imagine, if you could see Jesus and his mother, you would feel moved to do something. Because he was able to see and communicate with Mary and Jesus, he would often pray in front of a statue of Mary or a Crucifix. St. Francis of Assisi was like a guide to Padre Pio through his life
