Home is the first point of contact and communication where children are taught socialization, if parents aren’t able to instill discipline in their children, when hey get older they will be uncontrollable. A. The role of parents shouldn’t just be a nurturer, it includes training children and developing moral values in all aspects of life, so that when they go out in the world they know what is acceptable. B. Socialization is a vital role in the upbringing of children, it is up to the parents to guide the child in areas such as communication, manners etc. II. Displaying of moral values is equally important as teaching it; parents should lead by being an example to their child just as teaching it. A. Parents should be their children role model, simply because children view their parents as an inspiration to them, they do what they are told by their parents and they act upon what they see their parents do also. B. There is nothing better than a child having his/her parents as their life support system, it gives children the opportunity to confide and open the lines of trust and communication between both. III. Providing basic needs for children is not only mandatory by law but also by the rights of any child in order for them to successfully thrive in society. A. Creating a stable home for children has proven to be successful when it comes to stability in children’s upbringing. B. A good education will take you a far way, when children are given to opportunity to a good education the favorable outcome is that children will become successful. Revised Outline I.
