The Oral Stage: This is the beginning process from birth where we use our mouth as our main source of interaction we use it for feeding and comfort such as savoring. If there is an error in this process dependency and aggression problems develops resulting in drinking, eating and smoking problems in the future. (Cherry (n.d))

The Anal Stage (1-3 yrs.): This is the stage where potty training begins, the child gains pleasure by the wiping of the anal. Displacement This is the process of using negative methods to fill a desire like hitting your pet because someone upsets you.
Regression Regression is an incident that takes you back to a time when you were in urgency that triggers a present reaction.
Sublimation Sublimation is the process of using different methods that are acceptable to fill a desire. Like when your upset instead of having an outburst you do something positive that would ease your mind like read a book, play a sport or even do gardening.
