No one saw, but once people found out about what Dan did, none of the other characters ever forgave him. Her all time favorite lesson she received from the show is that things get hard. Really hard. Although it all may be slightly overdramatic, the point that life is hard was made. Brooke’s parents abandon her, Peyton’s birth mother and adopted mother both pass away along with both of Haley’s parents. Lucas’s uncle, Keith, is murdered just after Luke discovers his possibly fatal heart condition. Millicent becomes addicted to drugs, Nathan was forced to give up his NBA career when his legs are paralyzed, and Brooke discovers she is infertile. While it seems like this group of friends’ lives are just a series of unfortunate events, they all grow immensely from all of these tragedies.
