Introduction The world was created, there is no doubt about that. However, there are conflicting arguments on how the world was created. Two of these views are the old-earth secular view and the young-earth creationist view. The old-earth view is the Nebular hypothesis; this belief is that everything began from a mass of nebular material. The view that the earth is relatively young is also the belief that the world was created by God in 6 day as mentioned in the Genesis 1.

Genesis 1:1 says, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (CSB, 2017). This view claims God as the creator of life and the earth. It follows the belief that the world was created in 6 literal 24 hour days as mentioned in the Bible. According to this view the earth is relatively young about 6 to ten thousand years old. Ross (2015) says there are several beliefs young earth creationist’s hold one of which is that, “God directly and miraculously created ‘kinds’ of organisms that have since diversified in a limited fashion” (pg. 5). The “kinds” of organisms is discussed elsewhere in Ham’s book The New Answers: Book 3 (2009), “if two things can breed together, then they are of the same created kind” (pg. 40). According to this view God created all of the things seen on earth and earth itself by speech. It all started with “Let there be light.” And the Bible tells us there was light. The only thing God did not create just by speaking was man. He formed humans with His hands out of the dust of the ground and breathed life into their nostrils.
