In Animal Farm, there is an old mule known as Old Benjamin who is wise and intelligent and also represents a person in Soviet Russia. A good example of this is seen when Squealer was adding to the Fifth Commandments and Benjamin knew what was changed. Instead of saying, “No animal shall drink alcohol,” it was then written, “No animal shall drink alcohol to excess.” Even though Benjamin knows that it was altered and the animals did not he did not speak up publicly or privately. His comments generally remain to himself. However, that changes when in chapter nine, Boxer went down from illness doing to much hard labor and was then sent to the “hospital”. But then, Benjamin shouted, “Fools! Fools!...do you not understand what that means?” (123;ch.9).
Animal Farm by George Orwell is a novel based on the lives of a society of animals living on the Manor Farm. Although the title of the book suggests the book is merely about animals, the story is a much more in depth analysis of the workings of society in Communist Russia. The animals are used as puppets to illustrate how the communist class system operated and how Russian citizens responded to this. And also how propaganda was used by early Russian leaders such as Stalin, and the effort this type of leadership had on the behavior of the people of Russia.
Animal Farm is made up of different animals that are lead by Mr. Jones, who ends up being drunk all the time when going to bed and forgets to close up some of the cages. While Mr. Jones was going to sleep in the bed, the animals on the farm was having their own meeting led by, Major, the pig. In the meeting, they talked about who are their enemies and who are their friends, and who are the comrades. Billy was voluntarily put into the mental health ward, but feels he can never leave due to what the people in the ward made him think of the outside world. Billy’s fear of the world stems from how he is treated inside the ward by his peers. In 1855, 9 year old Ben, away at school in Portland, Oregon, fulfilling his dead mother's dream, is told that is father is sick and his sister Nettie is there to take him home. In fact, his father has had a severe stroke, can't move or speak, has left Ben, his 13 year old brother and older sister to fend for themselves. Needing to survive, his two older siblings plow and plant the fields. While Ben tends to his dad, and then decides to fulfill his dad's dream - to build a much needed barn for the animals. Seeing the barn as a way to bring back his dad from the stroke, the three children outline a foundation ; drag rocks from the creek, and begin building their dads dream.
In the beginning of the story Old Major gives a speech to the animals on the farm, and in this speech he mentions how cruel the humans are. During his speech Old Major uses Boxer the horse as an example when he says “You, Boxer, the very day that those great muscles of yours lose their power, Jones will sell you to the knacker, who will cut your throat and boil you down for the foxhounds.” (Orwell 11). He then proceeds to tell the animals that once they revolt the cruelty will end, and at first it does, but soon the pigs begin to act more like humans. The pigs act so much like the humans that at the end of the book it is said that the other animals can’t even tell the difference between the pigs and the humans.
It was was a dark night, all the animals huddled around Old Major to hear what he had to say about his dream. It turns out Old Major talks about rebelling against man so that all animals can have a better life. Ironically, after Rebellion, no one except Napoleon has a better life and he makes their lives even harsher. This is a story of communism, this is the story of Animal Farm.
Animal Farm Book and Movie Animal Farm is a novel about farm animals running a farm and becoming self sufficient. It is a story with great detail and is a very good book to read because of it surprising events. If you have seen Animal Farm the movie, you would feel completely different. The movie has far less detail and events to make it as interesting as the book. Though the story is basically the same, the lack of details makes the movie dull.

He was a human, and an inspiration to other humans. Everything was gone, and Animal Farm, was no more.
Night had fallen on the animal farm, though no animal was sleeping peacefully. Sleep was impossible that evening, for in the morning it would be known who was destroying the farm and who killed the old leader. Once before the farm was in shambles, and the animals looked to their new leader, Freud, to save them again as he had once before.
