Of Mice Of Men was a book, made into a movie, by John Steinbeck with two main characters, Lennie Small and George Milton. Both men face a challenges during The Great Depression time in 1937. The actors in the movie were John Malkovich, who played Lennie, and Gary Sinise, who played as George. There were also other characters in the book Curley, Crooks, Candy, and Mae. Curley is a selfish person and is the owner’s son at the ranch. He is very aggressive and boxer. Mae is Curley's wife which happens to be the only woman and very lonely. Crooks is a negro who has a crippled back and lives in his own bunkhouse. Candy is an old man that is very friendly and cares for other people. George takes care of Lennie during this time because of his mental disability. Lennie is a person who loves soft things but just like I said, he has a mental disability. All of them played their role very skillful. If being there at the time, it would feel authentic. The lighting in the movie made it look like it was during The Depression era. A ranch with workers working, bunkhouse, and the outside feeling. Especially when Lennie and George were by the brush. Such as the dark scenes, the main parts were well lit and you could understand the scene. I know that for a fact because there was the train scene. It was focused on his face and the ruffling lights went past his face. His feelings were expressed on his face. Between the book and the movie, it was relatively close. Just thinking about the mouse scene, George gets frustrated. He gets like that because Lennie acts like a child. Both of them can't help it and their friendship would never end. The language also made it real because of the swearing and yelling. There wasn't a huge lot of it in every single scene
