If I can go back in time to my last year of senior year in high school, I would tell my undecided, scared of moving on, and unsure self to pursue a career in Occupational Therapy. It was a definitely one of those "if only" moment in my life I wish I can re-due again. In High School there was not much information given to me about Occupational Therapy and it seemed it was not as popular as all the other career choices I was being informed or pressured to pursue. As I completed an on-line career assessment test provided by my High School to determine the best career/s based on your skills and interests, I got a list of potential careers that were arranged from primary careers to least careers I should pursue. I have never heard of the profession before and I was interested in finding out what it was because it was one of my primary careers. I began researching Occupational Therapy and became intrigued from the moment I read it's meaning. "Occupational Therapy assist individuals with disabilities, injured , elderly with health problems or regaining skills, to keep living a full filled life by getting them back to functioning using day to day daily activities" (occupations). I printed copies of all the information I found on Occupational Therapy and researched schools. There was the option to go for an OTA, (Occupational Therapy Assistant) at a Community College. I set my mind and decided I would work toward an OTA. Though I thought I was finally set and finally found my career path, life reminded me I was now out of High School and responsible for contributing to some of my family's financial obligations. Going to College was my choice it was never something my parent's ever talked to me about or mentioned. As I got established in my new career, Occupational Therapy came back into my life again. The school had a team of Occupational Therapists working with students with various disabilities throughout the day. I was astounded I was able to witness at first hand, my first career choice. It felt as if life was reminding me of what I missed out and "if only" I had chosen Occupational Therapy from the beginning. Occupational Therapy was always what I wanted to pursue and observing OT's in various setting has made this profession more fascinating to me. It has all the interests I seek in a lifetime career choice; Its a profession which assists people in restoring their life back or improving their quality of life from sudden and unexpected circumstances . After a long time of putting off my Masters degree because of various obligatorily reasons , I finally am ready and able to pursue my Masters degree and my choice is to pursue it on Occupational
