There is a branch of medicine that uses various procedures and methods to help the people with physical and/or mental ailments recover, develop or maintain skills that are required to function in daily routine as well as in the workplace environment. This branch of medicine which is popularly known as the Occupational Therapy Miami makes use of various types of activities very creatively as well as therapeutically. This is done to achieve the goals that are meaningful to the affected individual and reduces his/her disadvantages due to dysfunction. OT is also concerned with the roles, activities, occupations and the interactions of the individual within his/her personal environment. • Identifying the skills that are needed for supporting the stated occupations. • Removing or minimizing the barriers for achieving successful occupational performances. • Assisting the patient to relearn, develop and/or maintain the skills competently so that he/she is able to perform the occupations to his/her own satisfaction. • Helping the patient achieve a level of satisfactory balance between the activities in his daily life that are related to self-care, leisure and productivity.
