Whether you belong to a small or large organization, it is great to envision your own ideal leadership team one day. However, first everybody who wants to become a leader must be ready to develop ongoing learning and meet the growing challenges. An effective and successful leader come in all aspects of shapes, size and professional background. As we all know and understand that the nursing profession is not a relaxing career, but very demanding and stressful, yet I am willing to face the all the situation that I will encounter in order to become stronger and wiser in my nursing profession and my personal life. Personally, I believe that educating yourself never ends in nursing therefore, I would like to obtain Master’s degree in the future. I would stay current in every aspect of knowledge and educate myself by taking new courses, obtain CNOR certification and to be a nurse educator in the future. “The CNOR certification program is for perioperative nurses interested in improving and validating their knowledge and skills and providing the highest quality care to their patients”(CNOR, 2017). Nursing is a profession that uses a lot of the essential credentials in order to strengthen and unifies understand of all healthcare providers. Moreover, I believe leadership is not just a high position, rank with power, but it is seeing your own weakness and strength and develop new skills through successes and failures. As any great leader, I have to learn, understand the core values and must also have great courage to influence to work for the team and resolve conflicts with them as collective team member. Furthermore, as an effective leader it is necessary for me to understand the diversity at work within the organization, and ensure everyone is on the same page in order to achieve the success of the mission. My ultimate goal as a great perioperative leader is to respect others with dignity and contribute to other people’s success and improvement by maintaining a good relationship with them. “Perioperative leaders should work to foster an environment in which the values of human dignity, truth, integrity, excellence, duty, and social responsibility are accepted and demonstrated by perioperative staff members”(Whiteside, 2016).
