1. Describe how you would get the server to agree that a problem exists, and what you would do if the server refuses to acknowledge that a problem exists. Every manager wants nothing more than to see their organization succeed and an important part of their organizations succeeding is that their employees are completing their duties to their fullest potential. If for some reason the responsibilities’ of the employees are not getting accomplished, then it is up to the manager/supervisor to step in and resolve the situation. It is stated in the textbook that, “It is the supervisor’s responsibility to ensure that his or her unit meets its goals, ad that means ensuring that employees perform their tasks effectively.” (Werner & DeSimone, Pg. 327). …show more content…

As the server leaves out vital details, I would begin to question as to why those details are not getting done, and ask the server what he or she thinks may happen if they are not completed. This can be supported by a statement made in the text that says, “The supervisor needs to ask the employee questions designed to extract a statement of the problem behavior and its consequences. This approach ensures that an employee understands the situation.” (Werner & DeSimone, Pg. 337). After having a discussion with the server in hopes of agreeing that a problem exists, and the server still refuses to acknowledge that problems existent, then I believe I would have to turn to the disciplinary option of consequences. It is with high hopes that once the server is faced with the consequences of not only not completing the required tasks, but even not acknowledging that a problem existed, that an agreement of resolving the issue will
