A.) Angel’s parents go over the grades with her. They retain consistent eye contact with her as she tells them how hard she worked to earn her grades. They then verbally respond. “Your grades are much better than last time. I can see that you tried really hard, sweetie. We are so proud of you.”
B.) This is likely to cause a sense of joy and understanding. Angel will see that she is off to a great start. This is likely to encourage her to do even better from seeing that her parents care so much.
With Rejection:
A.) “You didn’t try hard enough. These grades are still subpar. You are going to go to march up to your room and study. We are very disappointed.”

The channels of nonverbal communication are the body, the face, the eyes, space, artifacts, time, paralanguage and silence.
The body communicates through general movements and gestures on any part of a person’s form. The body can be used to illustrate, affect displays, regulate, adapt and give off messages based on appearance. You can illustrate what you are trying to say with your hands. This can be used by giving the Ok sign which in America means everything is fine. Your body’s appearance can show whether you care or not. For example, if you walk into a formal job interview in sweat pants and a t-shirt it probably means you don’t care all that much about getting the job. The face communicates emotions and how intensely they are felt. This can be used to manage expression, give feedback, and can vary by culture. An example of management, would be to give a blank expression in order to hide what you are feeling. An example of facial communication varying by culture is an Italian looking very angry when displeased but a Chinese person could be much more expressionless about

An example would be avoiding eye contact. In America avoiding eye contact when talking can show guilt or disrespect. In another country avoiding eye contact could be considered as respectful to superiors and maintaining eye contact is either an insult or challenging.
Spatial communication can demonstrate boundaries as well as show closeness. Depending on what kind of relationship you have with an individual can determine the amount of space between you. An intimate relationship for example has very a very close distance. This indicates the individuals have an extreme fondness for each other.
Artifactual communication conveys messages through objects or arrangements. An example would be the color of your clothing with meanings such as purple representing royalty or white representing purity. Color meanings can vary depending on location so it is best to know what meaning they hold in the location you are
These words banged into my head so hard and I realized I was wrong. I apologized, decided to do my best and work harder in school and tests. I thought my parents were awesome; they could have yelled me, instead encouraging
The concept of face is referring to the socially approved self-image. It is about honor and shame belief and value systems. Facework is the verbal and nonverbal interactions we use in regards to our own social self-image and the social image of others.
Communication between people is done in two ways: verbally and nonverbally. Those are layman terms. The language of verbal communication is described as digital code, whereas nonverbal communication is called analog code. The main difference that you could probably presume is that verbal communication involves a language, or better yet, spoken words. Inversely, nonverbal communication integrates the use of symbols or gestures to communicate an idea or feeling.
Knowing other forms of communication is important because it can help to decrease negative behaviors for those who are non-verbal, and to understand their wants and needs. Many Autistic children have trouble with socializing and understanding different facial features, tones of voice, body language. For a non-verbal Autistic child the level of difficulty increases along with the chance of them becoming frustrated. There are many ways for a non-verbal child to be able to communicate, such as PECS boards, writing, different technology on ipads. This paper will provide evidence to answer the question: What are some techniques that are used to help a non-verbal Autistic child communicate?
Your tone of voice can tell someone if you are happy, sad, angry and even nervous. Think on a time when you were a child and you knew by the tone of your mother’s voice when she called you if you were in trouble or if your secret was kept a day longer. Facial expressions can be a tell sign on if you are listening, or angry, happy, irritated and it can tell if there is something you are confused about or if you are comprehending what you are reading or hearing. Body language can tell if you are comfortable, scared, tired, excited, intimidated or defensive to name a few. Some people even say that your body language can give away if you are lying or not.
Nonverbal behavior is channeled by norms and most of us abide by them without being aware of them. Physical appearance, gesture and body movement, face and eye behavior, vocal behavior, personal space, touch, scent/smell, and time are all forms of nonverbal communication behavior. Norms differ amongst various cultures, ethnic, and geographic groups. There are endless ways and forms to violate nonverbal norms, and by doing so can lead to a barrier in communication, which are problematic to distinguish.
In its most basic form, communicating involves a sender who takes his or her thoughts and encodes them into verbal and non-verbal messages that are sent to a receiver. The receiver than decodes the messages and attempts to understand what the sender meant to communication. The communication is completed when the receiver transmits verbal and nonverbal feed back to indicate his or her reception and understanding of the message. This process takes place within a context; also know as rhetorical situation, which includes all that affects the communication process such as the sender-receiver’s culture, the sender-receiver‘s relationship, the circumstances surrounding the sender-receiver’s interaction, and the physical environment of the interaction.
...hem and show them that everything is possible and black excellence is real. Some need that motivation and need to see things like this really happen. So I can’t keep telling them to get good grades and do well in school if I’m not demonstrating it to them. That wouldn’t be a good role model. I’m the first in my family to go to college and I have to finish strong. I haven’t let them down yet, so I can’t let them down now. Overall I think that I’ve been a great student in this class which is why when I receive my final grade I’d like to see a grade that I want. I learned my lesson with this course and that’s to do my work on time, stop procrastinating, and ask questions. So I won’t ever be in this predicament again. After writing this paper I can’t to conclusion that I definitely deserve a good grade. So I’m claiming it. I’m going to leave Math 170 with a good grade.
Space communication can help an observer depict a lot from a conversation he or she is witnessing. Around 2:00 p.m. Friday afternoon I was walking out of the bookstore in building eight at north campus. I decided to sit at one of the picnic tables, from a distance I saw two young African American students, around 21 or 22 years old sitting down on the swings. I quickly put on my glasses for a better view. I noticed that there was barely any space in between the two; they were stuck together like glue. I automatically assumed that they were involved, and after the young lady placed her head on the guys shoulder it amplified my suspicions. The angle I was...
Nonverbal cues involve everything but the spoken word which includes: body posture and facial expressions, gestures, eyebrows, eyes, tone of voice, speed of delivery, inflections, volume, and proximity. Even one's attire sends messages to others. Each area of the nonverbal has the power to send a message; combined they tell the listener what is meant and what is felt. The power of the nonverbal cannot be over-rated; it will almost always ...
During conversations, I have to put extra effort to maintain eye contact. One of the most important aspect of nonverbal communication is eye contact. The use of eye contact can be one of the most crucial and influential feature of our face. In America eye contact is essential “eye contact serves as a signal of readiness to interact and the absence of such contact, whether intended or accidental, tends to reduce the likelihood of such interactions”(Ruben & Stewart, 2015, 34). Eye contact shows that the person is interested in communicating with you, and has respect and appreciation for you. It gives the conversation a sense of flow. However the lack of eye contact can often seem disrespectful across culture. It is due to cultural comparison present regarding nonverbal communication. Every culture has its own altered
Good communication is an essentialvalue for successful relationships, whether personal or professional. Many researchers have stated that most of our communication is non-verbal. Non-verbal communication includes body language, facial expressions, gestures, eye contact, posture, and the tone of our voice. The ability to understand and use non-verbal communication is great skills that will help individualsconnect with others, when trying express feelings, handlingdifficultsituations and creating relationships with other in various places.Non-verbal communication is the body way of sending messages between people. These messages can be sent through emotions, gestures, engagement, voice tone, posture, and clothing.
Found information states that “nonverbal communication is the process of transporting messages through behaviors, physical characteristics and objects”. Its how and what we use in order to express our feelings and say things. Using symbols is a way of using nonverbal communication. Also nonverbal communication is the way we use body language and gestures too. Nonverbal communication is often used unconsciously. When using the certain communication it can be misinterpreted also. There are many different categories of nonverbal communication. They are the following: Aesthetics, Artifacts, Chronemics, Haptics, Kinesics, Paralanguage, Physical Appearance, Proxemics, and Oculesics.
When we communicate, we can say a lot without speaking, through our body, our posture, tone of voice and the expression on our face all display a message. If our feelings don’t fit with our words, it is often the body language that gets heard and believed. Nonverbal communication is a rapidly flowing interactive process. Being aware and understanding the cues you may be sending along with the cues others send and pick up from your body language, may not be showing what you are really trying to communicate to others at that moment.
Communication is the simple “process of acting on information,” but communication is a lot more complex than that. Communication comes in varies categories and can be misunderstood if the message is not clear. Verbal and non-verbal communication is a great example where an issue can occur—if the source transmits a message that is not very well developed, then the receiver might interpret the message in a different context than originally intended. In my experience, verbal and non-verbal communication can be misinterpreted quite often. Texting is the most common abstract form of verbal communication—when someone responds with a single word like, “ok, or cool” to a very long text message, that
