A.) Angel’s parents go over the grades with her. They retain consistent eye contact with her as she tells them how hard she worked to earn her grades. They then verbally respond. “Your grades are much better than last time. I can see that you tried really hard, sweetie. We are so proud of you.”
B.) This is likely to cause a sense of joy and understanding. Angel will see that she is off to a great start. This is likely to encourage her to do even better from seeing that her parents care so much.

A.) “You didn’t try hard enough. These grades are still subpar. You are going to go to march up to your room and study. We are very disappointed.”

The channels of nonverbal communication are the body, the face, the eyes, space, artifacts, time, paralanguage and silence.
The body communicates through general movements and gestures on any part of a person’s form. The body can be used to illustrate, affect displays, regulate, adapt and give off messages based on appearance. You can illustrate what you are trying to say with your hands. This can be used by giving the Ok sign which in America means everything is fine. Your body’s appearance can show whether you care or not. For example, if you walk into a formal job interview in sweat pants and a t-shirt it probably means you don’t care all that much about getting the job. The face communicates emotions and how intensely they are felt. This can be used to manage expression, give feedback, and can vary by culture. An example of management, would be to give a blank expression in order to hide what you are feeling. An example would be avoiding eye contact. In America avoiding eye contact when talking can show guilt or disrespect. In another country avoiding eye contact could be considered as respectful to superiors and maintaining eye contact is either an insult or challenging.
Spatial communication can demonstrate boundaries as well as show closeness. Depending on what kind of relationship you have with an individual can determine the amount of space between you. An intimate relationship for example has very a very close distance. This indicates the individuals have an extreme fondness for each other.
Artifactual communication conveys messages through objects or arrangements. An example would be the color of your clothing with meanings such as purple representing royalty or white representing purity. Color meanings can vary depending on location so it is best to know what meaning they hold in the location you are
