When it comes to looking at the difference in organization planning you most first look at is the organization for a profit or is it a non-profit organization. How to determine the difference between the two types of organizations are profit organizations work to make money for the business and owners, whereas non-profit aim to make money for the community needs and usually have no owners but volunteers. Profit organizations are considered ones that you purchase products like food, clothes, or furniture from on a regular or semi-regular basis. Whereas for non-profit they make no money other than donations made by the community so that they can meet their goals in helping their non-profit organization objective. American Red Cross has very effective method of how it plans and operates being known around the world in assistance when a natural disaster strikes. With a very specific mission to provided, “all people affected by disaster across the country and around the world receive care, shelter and hope.” (vision statement, 2017) American Red Cross vision statement is very specific to what they want to accomplish in being a non-profit organization in helping those in need when disaster strikes such as hurricanes, fires, earth quakes, or tornadoes. What makes American Red Cross the organization it is, is that it is funded through donations and volunteers.
