The Organization, which for the purpose of this paper will be referred to as ABC Foundation. ABC Foundation is a non-profit organization managed by the members of the board of directors, incorporated in 2000 by a group of professionals from various fields. Its mission is health education and promotion among the less privileged members of the society, with a focus on chronic diseases and some infectious diseases. Its headquarters in Los Angeles, CA is the fulcrum for all its activities and today its provides health education to about 4 continents – America, Africa, Europe, and Asia. The strong commitment to work, the deep commitment to serve within the ABC Foundation often creates an ethical dilemma. This ethical dilemma is entrenched in their organizational culture and results into conflict of interest. This conflict of interest arises among the leaders of the organization, in which sometimes their personal interests are at loggerheads with their obligation as public officers, as well as their professional values (Cooper, 2012). There is a policy that states that “Do not connect the amount of funds raised to compensation”. There are times when various donor groups or organizations gives donations or “gifts” to the members of the board. While the external control prescribes the use of new rules, adoption of new legislation or the institution of new regulations to cover up loopholes, the internal control involves personal character that has developed over time. External control is stated to be the code of ethics (Cooper, 2012). For example, in the conduction of the activities of the ABC Foundation, there is a requirement for balance between these internal and external controls. The external control ensures discourages inclinations to self-interest by the members of the organization, while internal control ensures socially constructive, idealistic, and creative impulses. These leads to the timely implementation of their duties to the various countries the ABC Foundation serves all over the world. These creates a balance and ensures the judicious use the resources donated by various donors and the sustained public
