In eleventh grade when it was time to sit down and pick electives, I remember thinking to myself ‘which elective will be the easiest’. I thought ‘Non Profit Ventures for certain’. Non Profit Ventures is a class that teaches students how to start and run a non profit organization with hands on experience. Our teacher is the head of the Santa Clarita Valley/ Antelope Valley chapter of Project Linus. Project Linus, based off of the peanuts character: Linus, is an organization that distributes brand new, homemade blankets for critically ill children. The biblical worldview is essentially the integration of fundamental biblical teachings to become a meaningful and unified response to the routine opportunities and challenges of modern life. An individual wholly inscribed into a biblical worldview projects a belief system that the core purpose of existence is to love and serve the Lord God alone. Essentially, a Christian worldview is formed in reference of the infallible living Word of God (Tackett, 2014). After a believer fully believes the living Word of God then allows it to form the basis of everything in their life. That implies, for instance, that when a believer chooses to pursue Romans 13 to respect people in authority then must take priority in voting and electing new leaders into power. A bible believing person should lead a life that portrays the biblical teachings and truths. As practical Christians our gut reaction should be limited to the biblical established truths (Wayne, 2014).
The nonprofit sector in America is a reflection some of the foundational values that brought our nation into existence. Fundamentals, such as the idea that people can govern themselves and the belief that people should have the opportunity to make a difference by joining a like-minded group, have made America and its nonprofit sector what it is today. The American "civil society" is one that has been produced through generations of experiments with government policy, nonprofit organizations, private partnerships, and individuals who have asserted ideas and values. The future of the nonprofit sector will continue to be experimental in many ways. However, the increase of professional studies in nonprofit management and the greater expectation of its role in society is causing executives to look to more scientific methods of management.
Non-Profit organizations are a major mold in society in general, and they continue to help advance many of the social causes of our time. From the description, we know that employee and volunteer morale is quite low, and that is the fault of the senior management. In an organization, it is important that each individual knows that they are contributing to something larger than themselves. In many cases, employees seek to work somewhere where they can earn a living, but also where they can become a member of a team, and feel a sense of purpose. When they are not treated with respect or given the ability to make their own decisions, they lose engagement and become stagnant in their work. In January of 2018, the Franklin County 4-H Teen Council transpired for the first time in nearly 5 years. The overall mission of the club is simple: 4-Hers working together for the betterment of 4-H, the members, and the community. Some may question, "How will the club accomplish these goals?"
Throughout this course my paradigms of what a nonprofit organization have been challenged as we have considered the major aspects and leadership challenges of these organizations. Having worked with for profit and nonprofit organizations in the past I was quite confident that I had a clear understanding of the distinctions between the two. I had worked in organizations that regularly used volunteers to accomplish their mission and felt that the management of these processes were simplistic. Despite these misconceptions, I found that I was able to learn a tremendous amount through our reading, peer interactions, group projects and equally important, my volunteer service as part of this course.
served 152 people and had 6 volunteers. The Salvation Army survives greatly because of their volunteers and help from the community. The volunteers come on their lunch breaks and other spare time to help. Everyone still gets served even with the huge number difference.

It’s incredibly crazy to compare my life this year to where I was three-hundred and sixty-five days ago. As a senior in high school, I was so worried about the future and if I would survive, so to speak. Here I am now, experiencing college and gaining a valuable education in more than just a survival mode, but in a completely growth oriented mode of thriving. Campus involvement has been the best encourager for my education outside of your typical classroom setting. My main involvement is with Georgia Southern’s Office of Leadership and Community Engagement. I currently live in a Living Learning community on campus called Lead and Serve. This community is run through the Leadership Office which we call OLACE. I am housed with like minded individuals who have a passion for growing their leadership and doing community service. We have weekly meetings where we discuss social issues and prepare events for the local Statesboro community to get involved in and for us to serve. I am also invovled in an organization called Southern Leaders. Upon completion of this course and club, I will graduate with a leadership seal upon my diploma. Since being on my beautiful campus in south Georgia, I have completed over one hundred hours of community service. OLACE has also provided me the opportunity to take non-credit leadership classes in Self-Leadership, Collaborative Leadership, Living the Change and other various leadership classes I have taken advantage of. I have gained the knowledge of my leadership style and abilities and how to best use those when leading others. Throughout the world, but especially in the United States nonprofit organizations are very important and a necessity for many cities. It has become one of the main focuses for a growing amount of majors and studies for many people. With more than 8 million employees and more than 80 million volunteers in the United States alone nonprofit are some of the most important job in recent times (Drucker). The importance of many nonprofit organizations could be the difference between many people’s lives and their deaths. The importance of nonprofit organizations is growing throughout the United States day by day. The fact that nonprofits are built solely on helping the people throughout your community and neighboring communities make nonprofits important based on that fact in itself. Nonprofit provide places to sleep when maybe a family has nowhere to go or somewhere to have a hot meal. This could be someone in your family, a close friend or even a distant neighbor but in all people are people and help is help so the reasons for nonprofit being important are ongoing.
Hey, everyone, I am Jasmine a Junior here at GCU who is about to graduation on December I finish in three years instead of four because I would not take the summers off for a break instead of would be taking more classes to get ahead. My degree is in Business Management and I am coursing taking this class, Human Resources, Strategic Management Taxation and Marriage and Family classes. I live in Phoenix where I plan on staying after graduating school but course life happens so if I have to move because of work or because of my spouse I will. As when it comes to volunteering I do not know yet I plan on finding out what I can do around the school to get a volunteer. When I began this class, I had never had any experience or knowledge on non-profit organizations. After reading the chapters and doing the project for CHASI, I began to realize that non-profit could be my niche. I chose to pursue a degree in criminal justice, because of the many job possibilities, but I never would have imagined non-profit being one of those possible careers for myself. I was raised under the philosophy from both sides of my family, that if you give, you will get in return, I believe this so much and I have witnessed it personally throughout this semester. I have given my time and effort to raise money for people, who I don’t know and who are less fortunate than some, and although I may not receive money or items back in exchange, I get to feel a sense of pride, which is more than enough. So when I went to the nonprofit career website and looked through the job listing, there were many that I was interested in but only a couple that I could actually see myself doing.
Student participation in the annual Business Society Haunted House is essential for the future of this great event. Penn State DuBois has nearly one thousand students attending classes, but on average only fifteen students volunteer their time each night over the five-day period. This presents a problem for the Business Society. If student participation continues to decrease, this event will only be a memory.

The relationship between young people and nonprofits can be the start of a significant change in our community, and should be a reciprocal and powerful educational experience. An open-minded and encouraging flow of communication between organizations and community members can be the launchpad for the social and environmental change organizations talk about and try for every day. Together, we can make change – not just a semblance of idealism, but reality, as well.
Volunteering enables a person to develop new skills that he or she would otherwise not have been able to develop. Unlike most other organizations, a charitable organization is happy to give positions to passionate, though inexperienced, individuals who desire to help others and benefit the community. Therefore, an individual with little experience in a field of work can gain meaningful skills that he or she can use in the future. For example, while I volunteered at the hospital this summer, I learned about the daily work lives and professional duties of doctors and nurses.
