Newspapers, Tabloids and Broadsheets

Newspapers are a medium of news brought to people all over the world

in most countries that have the money to publish and produce them.

Newspapers contain articles on the topics such as news, weather,

television, sport, celebrities, music, politics, stocks and shares,

people's views, advertisements and future events.

Each newspaper is aimed at a particular audience, e.g. -

Tabloid

'The Sun' is aimed at a younger audience, typical builder, non-office

or business type person who mainly buys it for when he needs to read

it when he uses a portable toilet on the site on his break or to sit

in his office with a cup of tea and a sandwich and read through the

sport pages and the 'page three girls'. The name is originally

omnipresent and can see everything that goes on in the world, it can

catch the minds of others by representing the fact that you can't live

without the sun. A tabloid newspaper such as 'The Sun', has a bubble

type font with red as a background to the title, people get attracted

to the red of the title, drivers and pedestrians usually stop at a red

light, so 'The Sun' makes people stop and looked at the newspaper.

Additionally, 'The Mirror' which is another tabloid newspaper, gets

its name from an object, which represents and reflects what is being

seen. It contains the news but a summary and not in a greater more

detailed text, but like all tabloid newspapers, most of the articles

have a lot of pictures that take up a considerably large amount of

article space. To fill the newspaper to make buyers think they are

getting quantity as well as quantity for their money, when all they

are getting is a few sheets of paper filled with a small amounts of

summarised news and articles and plenty of images.

Broadsheet

Additionally, a broadsheet newspaper has an original font such as

'Times New Roman', throughout the paper in which business class and

the more intellectual people are buying and reading as it contains
