Describe how the four pillars of National Honor Society shaped your development. How will you apply these pillars to your future goals? The four pillars of National Honor Society has shaped my development in that I always keep these pillars in mind for all of my days to day activities. I maintain my GPA above the standard to be National Honor Society member and within the range set by my chapter’s range to be a continuous member. In college, I wish to continue this high standard set by my time in high school as an NHS member of which has become second nature to me after four years. Service is one attribute that I am very apt to do for others many times subconsciously. In general, I am considered as a stable volunteer for whenever anybody around me needs help with something. In terms of my future, I don’t think I will ever stop being a “service girl”. My years in NHS has taught me that the best service I can give is not the biggest grandest devotion to going overseas and serving there, but it is right in my own background helping people who may be as close as a fellow classmate in sport to yell words of encouragement as they compete or helping to make a mulch path in my school’s garden. Leadership is the pillar that I like the most because I find it follows the first two pillar mentioned. By keeping my grades leveled and served my community, I realized that leadership naturally followed with my dedication for the other pillars made other people regard me as one who could lead and found that I enjoyed having leadership roles, for example, my role as president of the Creative Writing club at my school. In the future, I wish to continue to rise to more leadership roles and maybe make it to be a representative for a country in Model UN. Lastly, character is a quality that one must
