You will need to set a budget, book the church, and reception hall. Most importantly, you cannot forget about your bridal party. Your first step is to set a budget. Most couples choose a day that is special to them. Planning a holiday weekend can be a little tricky. As we found out major holiday weekends (Fourth of July, Memorial, and Labor Day) will cost you. You will also want to keep in mind depending of the time of year you get married it may cost you more. For example, if you decide on a Saturday night it can cost you up to fifty dollars more than a Friday or Sunday wedding. You also have to keep in mind if you want to get married during peak season, which are the months of summer September through October. We opted on a November wedding since it was not a peak season. Some questions you might want to ask yourselves is if you want a big or small bridal party. I once stood up at a wedding that had eleven bridesmaids, and twelve groomsmen. I thought it was a little excessive. Everything that bride was chaotic. She had some girls that were late to her house, the other never showed up, while another wore the wrong shoes. My husband and I decided agreed we did not want a big wedding party. I decided to go with having only family; while he opted to have the boys’ he grew up with. You as the bride will want to be able to rely on your bridesmaids. They should be there for you every step of the way up until the wedding. I was fortunate enough to have such a great group of girls.
