Another reason why narco corridos are an influence to society is their disrespect towards women, since the genre of music is about glorifying drugs and illegal money, artists tend to sing about luxuries cars parties and they also make women seem like an object that can be bought by their illegal activities. In narco corrido videos there is always more than one women half naked dancing around a man that thinks he deserves it all. It has always been around that women back then would do whatever their husband would tell them to do even if men would go around with other women, well narco corridos try to bring the message back of men having more than one women and just showing off the money they have living a criminal life. This attitude going on

Cesar Chavez was born on March 31, 1927 in Yuma, Arizona. He was a field worker was realizing every day the injustice they were passing through, they had no rights as other workers because the field workers were not as important at the time. Cesar Chavez wanted others to see how they were treated and how they were suffering, but at the same time he wanted fieldworkers realized that what was happening was something unfair and unequal. In his honor was left his house to represent the hope that everything can be done, to represent a new beginning for all field workers and to remember everything he did. Cesar Chavez improved every farm worker, and made a great impact. Sites representing Cesar Chavez through his success on the rights of farm workers.
I grew up in a Mexican family listening to corridos, which are a type of song, since at every party, every celebration, and every occasion, that’s what the family would play. As I became more aware and conscious, I began to realize what these songs were actually saying. These corridos were telling a life story, ranging from life issues such as poverty, hard times, immigration, social and political problems, and/or life in general. A prominent and recurring theme that I saw developing throughout was immigration. Many of these songs, were expressing strong feelings that many Mexican immigrants, including my parents and other family members, were feeling regarding they’re citizenship status, how they were being discriminated against, and ultimately how they were feeling.
Latin lovers, banditos, and gangbangers are the negative roles that have been filmed in Hollywood production have diminished over a long period. Bandito is dirty with unshaven face and they are dishonest, irrational and emotional to violence. Media had portrayed racist imagery on Banditos featured inability in English speaking and their accents is a racial marker.
The increase in the use of the drug and violent crimes associated with abusing it impacted the rise of violent crimes. News coverage of the increase in crime associated with drugs led to hysteria throughout the country. Panic ensued over a public misunderstanding of violent crime and drug use. The media’s constant coverage added to the problem. “The attention to televised crime news leads to increased fear and concern, rather than that the already more fearful and concerned become more attentive” (Chiricos, Padgett, & Gertz, 2000,
In order to study a particular culture, like narco culture, it is important to understand that every individual has a distinct role within the culture and it cannot be examined solely on several individuals from one social class. After reading the ethnography, I realized that one of the reasons Muehlemann conducted research on narco culture was to focus specifically on the economic opportunities available in the drug trafficking industry based on gender differences. Women are not represented in narco culture as much as men in the media. However, it is important to understand that women in narcotics have important roles in the drug trafficking industry. Women associated with narco culture are more economically and emotionally vulnerable than men.
An influence that made an impact throughout our historical events, and in my culture was Cesar Chavez . He is was a civil rights activist and a labor leader who fought for improving the working conditions and fair amount of pay for farm workers. He would lead marches called boycotts, and also did hunger strikes . Before he did all this he himself , with his family worked in the fields as farm workers. Cesar Chavez hardened by his experience and dedicated his life to improving the treatment with nonviolence .
As the sun goes down on this decade of splendor and scandal, the American people look to the people who shaped the culture of this era. With the eighteenth amendment’s power still rampant in the nation today, certain men were catalysts to the industry which formed on the coattails of this policy. Al Capone, as many Americans know him, was—and still is—a key influencer in the bootlegging sphere. Because of this man’s dirty work, the country kept on indulging in the face of prohibition.
The cartels involvements with violence, business industries, and political corruption have all affected the economy in Mexico. Crime rates and homicides in Mexico are absolutely jaw dropping. There were 17,372 intentional homicides and 14,720 negligent homicides in 2013 alone. The brutality of the cartels is simply disgusting. They kill anything in their way of making money, or anything that has the slightest possibility of getting them imprisoned.
Mexico’s drugs wars as well as bloody drug cartels are echoed in a controversial folk music genre commonly known as narco corridos or simply as drug ballads. They tell the stories allied to shootouts, drug lords, betrayals including daring criminal operations. Narco corridos are not a new style in Mexican music, in fact, they have been around for years, and they are popular among the old and the young. This genre has evolved to be modern fugitive music that fuses the emotional responses of antique ballads with the tense gravel of mobster rap. From global idols to rural artists documenting their neighborhood current events in the regions subjugated by guerilla war, narco corridos provides the songwriters in their homes with unique but artistic superiority, investigating the heartland of the infamous Mexican drug trafficking as well as publicizing municipal midpoints such as Los Angeles, in addition to Mexico City.
“She ain’t nuttin but a hoochie mama…Smackin’ on your lips, put your hands on your hips…She ain’t nuttin but a hoochie mama…Oh I love those big brown eyes and the way you shake your thighs, acting like you’re so damn cute...” Rap music with lyrics like this play on the radio and in home stereos every day. Rap music pounds messages of sex and violence into the minds of young adults leaving behind their sexist and repetitive influential messages. Music has a very powerful influence on our emotions, moods, and behavior. Rap music influences teenagers negatively by increasing violent attitudes and promoting sexual aggression against women.
One of the biggest causes of drug trafficking is very futile economies where people are searching for ways to make money. Places with weaker economies, such as Mexico and Colombia, usually have a lot higher drug trafficking rates than places with strong economies. As I said before, it is believed that Mexico’s economy would shrink by over sixty-three percent if it wasn’t for drug trafficking. That in itself is enough to show how dependent some places are on drug trafficking. These areas don’t have the job opportunities that many places throughout the world have either because they don’t have good economies. This is beca...
“ If it doesn't fit, you must acquit” ("Is O.J. Simpson Innocent"). This is a well known quote from the famous O.J Simpson trials. He was born on July 9th, 1947. He was named Orenthal James after a french actor that his aunt liked. When he was thirteen he was involved in a gang and got into a fight where he landed himself in a youth guidance center. He grew up to be a football player in college and then in the NFL. Then after he became an actor. He was married to his first wife when he met Nicole Brown. Him and his wife got a divorce and then in 1985 O.J. and Nicole got married. She then filed for a divorce in 1992 because she said he was abusive. Two years later on June 13th, 1994, Nicole and her friend Ron Goldman were found murdered outside of her house. Of course the main suspect was O.J. This was one of the biggest trials yet and the media made it even bigger. The outcome of the O.J. Simpson trials shows how much of an effect the media has on crimes today.
The Mexican banditry has appeared in many forms of culture since the early nineteenth century. The book “Bandit Nation” talked about a cultural impact that banditry had on Mexico from the period of its independence to the Mexican Revolution. The bandits did not come up with their own name but the Mexican and the elites are the ones that gave the bandits their name. The bandits are the lower-class outlaws and rebels who resist exploitation and oppression (Preface page). The elites did not just give them that name because they were poor but because they would do criminal activities. Some Mexicans would see the bandits as good but others saw them as just using it as an excuse to be rebels. Some of the Mexicans saw the bandits as heroes and some of the ones seen as heroes were Francisco Villa and the ones that followed him which were Chucho el Roto, Heraclio Bernal, and Santanon. The bandits were giving Mexico a bad reputation and that’s why they were trying to put a stop to them. It made it seem like the Mexican people could not even control their own people.
There is a direct relationship between what is portrayed in music and the effect it has on its audience. Generally speaking, in modern music, woman have been placed in a certain mold. The molds portrayed in music have caused women to have negative self-perception. Through the lyrics presented in the songs and the images portrayed in the music videos, certain hip-hop songs may cause women to view themselves in the same light portrayed in the songs. The tone, lyrics, and images presented in the songs effect the intended audiences immensely. Hip hop music that objectifies black women negatively affects their self-perception because they view themselves as commodities.
