In F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel The Great Gatsby, Daisy Buchanan was a very important character, without her in the novel it would have never played out the same way. Daisy Buchanan was very wealthy, materialistic, and complicated. I believe that Daisy was a great deal deeper than people gave her credit for.

Daisy was not a very wealthy person on her own, but she was with her husband Tom Buchanan she had all the money in the world. Tom and Daisy had a very lovely house and of course all the nice things you could think of on it. Daisy was not afraid to flaunt what she had. For example when they invited her cousin, Nick Carraway over for a visit, she was always trying to impress him with her things that she thought had great value, but to her surprise Nick was not very flattered. Daisy didn’t know what to do without her wealth. It was all she had ever had and she very much so depended on it. I believe that this is another reason why she would never fully leave Tom Buchanan for Jay Gatsby, because in the past Jay Gatsby was poor and had little money to buy material things, although Gats...
