My saint, Saint Thomas Aquinas was born in circa 1225 in Roccasecca, Italy which is know known as Lazio. Thomas was famous for combing his beliefs in god with logic. He was a patron of students and universities, and was canonized by Pope John XXII in the 1300’s. Thomas son of Landulph, count of Aquino had eight siblings and happened to be the youngest out of them all. In fact,before he was born a holy hermit told his mother that he would grow up to be apart of the order of friars and achieve unequaled sanctity. When he was five he was sent to go and study with monks and was sometimes referred to as “ a witty child” at Monte Cassino where he was study with the monks ask the question “What is god?” He then stayed at the Monte Cassino till he was 13 he had to return to Naples due to a military conflict between the Emperor and the Pope. While at the stadium generale in Naples he had a new-found interest in Aristotle, Averroes, and Maimonides which are all philosophers but while at the university he met John of St. Julian who influenced him to join the Dominican order. After writing several other books and passages he then returned to Naples where was appointed preacher. He then ,while in Orvieto, wrote Summa contra Gentiles, Catena aurea, and Contra errores
