The education I have received through Lennox High School and its staff has prepared me in many ways for my future ahead of me. I plan to attend Dakota Wesleyan University, in Mitchell, South Dakota and play golf there as well. I am undecided of a major at this point but hope to be decided soon. I have had many teachers, coaches and administrators aid in who I have become as a person today. I have been a three sport athlete all four years of high school and have had many coaches along the way that have not only shaped my athletic performance but also my character off the athletic playing field. My sophomore year we were given the option to mentor at one of our schools during a study hall period that we had. I decided that this was a good opportunity to help out a teacher and learn a lot through the experience. My sophomore year I mentored for fourth and fifth grade special education. I absolutely loved helping the kids out with their school work but also aiding in someone that they could talk to that wasn’t an adult and be comfortable with. By the end of the year I had some great relationships with some of the students that I had worked with and it was an overall life-changing experience. I have mentored individually and also in the second grade classroom since then which has also been a great experience. My individual mentoring experience is one I will never forget. I had the chance to mentor a second grade girl, who has a troubled home life. I would take her out of the classroom every other day for around forty-five minutes for one-on-one time. The time I got to spend with her I tried to help her in every way I could. Whether that be just listening to her tell stories about her weekend or helping her with her homework. I feel like I had a huge impact on this little girl’s life but she made an even bigger impact on
