My Love Of Literacy

At this very moment in my life, I am not really as big on literacy as I was in my younger years. I am not a part of a book club, I do not write letters to anybody, and I don’t listen to books on tape. Although I don’t do some of the things that I used to do in my younger years, that doesn’t mean that I don’t still love literacy. I still really do love reading, but I don’t read for fun like I did throughout school. I don’t read or write as much as I did in the past years because of how busy my life has gotten. Now, I am a full-time college student and worker. In my free time if I’m not studying or doing homework then I’m probably cleaning around the house or running errands. The only time that I do read nowadays is when I have to read a homework assignment or a textbook for school. The same goes for writing. Now I only write when I have to complete an assignment for school. I wish I could still do all the things I did in elementary school, but it’s hard to still do all those things when you get older because of all the new priorities you have. …show more content…

However, in a couple of days when I go on Christmas break for school, I will be reading again. When I have the chance to read a few books I like to grab some old ones that at have sitting in my bookshelf at home. After I get tired of reading the same books, I like to go to the public library to get some new books to read. I like going to the public library because they have such a big variety of books to choose from for free. My most favorite types of books to read are romance, realistic fiction, and mystery. I have always loved to read mystery books because of how fun and interesting they are. Also because in a way, they almost make me feel like a detective trying to solve a mystery.
