Adolescents! Adolescence. The point in life where the world´s biggest problems begin. Two authors Jean Davies Okimoto of “My Favorite Chaperone” and Alma Luz Villanueva of “Golden Glass” written a narrative about two adolescents who experiences the situations of the world. As they use Maya the main dynamic character of “My Favorite Chaperone” and Ted the main dynamic character of “Golden Glass” both ventures through the trials of their families and their social reputation. At the beginning of the realistic fiction “My Favorite Chaperone,” Maya introduces her complications of the spring fling. She is hanging around with her crush (Daniel) which picks her up. In mid action her dad sees this and does not approve of it. (Okimoto.16) “MAYA ALAZOVA! His voice roared across the parking lot. He pointed at me the way one might identify a criminal. “EDEE SUDA!” he shouted in Russian. COME HERE!” Her father is very strict and he does not tolerate that behavior. Also this shows that her and her father does not see eye to eye. Coincidentally, Ted does not see his dad at all which cause a problem for his family as well. As he reminisce about his dad, he also compared him to a(Villanueva.4) “Blurred memory of a football hitting him too hard, pointed (a bullet), right in the stomach.” Furthermore , Ted and his father harsh relationship lead to nightmares to him and his sister.(Villanueva.6) “That time he woke up screaming in his room (he forgot why), and his sister began crying at the same time, ‘Someone’s in here,’ as though they were having the same terrible dream.
