My Career In Dental Hygiene

I currently attend Tennessee State University as a freshman. I plan on majoring in Dental Hygiene. I am the first to graduate and attend college in my family so of course everybody has high expectations from me. My mom and dad sacrificed a lot for me to attend school and get a good education and they taught me that without education you really can’t do much with your life. I want to have a good career and a good degree so I can be successful in life. I want to make my parents happy and very proud of the young lady they have raised. My father’s dream has always been for me to major in Dental Hygiene because of how successful I can be. And my dream has always been to make my dad (my inspiration and my role model) happy. When I started off trying to decide my major I had a very hard time because I honestly didn’t know what I wanted to do. I didn’t want to choose a major that I couldn’t really do much with or find a good job with. I asked my dad for help and he told me that this major would fit me perfectly and we looked up more information about it and we looked up the salary for it too and that’s when I knew I had found my major.
I believe this career matches me because for one I love being around people and I love helping others when they are in need meaning I can help them with better teeth I can take them out of pain I can give them a better smile then they had before. I also loved the salary they had. I can major in this career and I can help my parents out I can give back to them and thank them for everything they’ve done for me. I also talked to the people at my dentist and they told me about how much they love their job and one of the ladies there actually graduated from TSU and she majored in Dental Hygiene. She told me ...

...lary was definitely worth it. She has time to take care of her kids and give them the life they deserve too. She is also married. Its good to know you can have a wonderful family and still pursue your career in doing something you love.
There are specific courses you have to take and then finally try to get into the Dental Hygiene program and from there on out you talk to professors and get help. You have to try and stay on the right page and you have to believe in yourself. It’ll get hard for you and you’re going to want to give up times but you always have to think positive and think about the good outcome that’s going to come out of everything. My biggest motivation is the smile on my parents face when I walk down that aisle on graduation and when I become a Dental Hygienists. I know I can do it and I believe in myself. I will not give up on my dream.
