Does the faculty truly believe that all children can learn at a high level? We must then ask, what preparation has been done? Who has prepared the staff? What is the makeup of the staff as well as their background? In other words, who supports, mentors, and advises teachers to ensure all students receive a quality education. There is a constant challenge to educate diverse students. In a growing population, the need for teaching diverse groups grows at an alarming rate. Multicultural education is not the silver bullet to stop or slow down the achievement gap, to ensure No Child is Left Behind, or the cure for racial inequality. Most adaptations are used for short periods of time as so the student can master the subject and or grasp the strategy needed to complete the task, assignment, or subject. The adaptation should not be removed until the student can work independently. In some situations students may use adaptations for months and for others it may be years. All students do not learn alike. More than often, students will require adaptations or accommodations in many different areas.
