Obesity causes up to 60% of all deaths globally which puts obesity fifth of the most leading risk for global deaths. Obesity is a disorder that is associated with having a very large amount of body fat. This is very hard to control because of environmental and genetic factors when dieting. Over the past three years, the number of people who are obese has tripled and is still rising. In 2016 there were 1.9 billion overweight people, with 650 million of those being obese. Also, 41 million preschool children were overweight in 2016. Imagine how many there would be now? Which he did really well, but in a way most people don’t believe. As he over exaggerates some parts of the video by making it even worse than what it is. But this is just one of the reasons most people are questioning if the documentary is telling the truth. SHOW Examples above and below. Another main reason is editing. Spurlock uses this a lot throughout the documentary to make the film more persuading. Spurlock cuts and trims out selected parts of the recordings and uses those to make ‘Supersize Me’. How do we know that the professionals told him only that amount information or that he ate all the food? Spurlock uses a lot of editing to convince the audience that the golden arches are to blame. Morgan Spurlock is a well-known writer, producer and director. But then again he over exaggerates most of the documentary by making it unrealistic. As a normal human being only eats McDonald’s once a week. He uses editing, camera angles and his choice of words very wisely to produce a persuading documentary.
