The Lenape tribe is tribal community now mostly known as the Delaware Tribe of Indians and the Delaware Nation. They were also called Lenni Lenape. In their native language Lenni means genuine or real while Lenape means Indian or people (Waldman). The Lenape language was originally taken from an Algonquian language. However, the Lenape language was wiped out and currently there are very few Lenape Indians that are capable of speaking their native language fluently. There are currently very few Lenape Indians and most are located in Canada and parts of the United States. They were branched into several different clans. They lived mostly near rivers and were divided into three major clans. The first clan was the tukwsi-t or the wolf the second was the pukuwanku or the turtle and pele' which translates to turkey (Waldman). For thousands of years they lived peaceful lives and survived off of planting and hunting. Women were strongly valued in this tribe therefore they followed a matrilineal system. Everyone in the tribe had specific roles even the children. As the first European explorers arrived the tribe’s life shifted drastically. For the Lenape tribe the 1700s was a devastating time.

It has 37,879 acres of water with a maximum depth of 70 ft. and a pool level of 437 ft. Lake Tawakoni Texas (TX), is located on the South Fork and Cowleech Fork of the Sabine River.
Mono Lake is a unique body of water lying in the Eastern Sierra Nevadas. For decades its water sources were tapped by the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (DWP) to use for farming because the lake's high elevation would allow them to easily transport the water to the city and because the water was so saline, people believed it was worthless. The normal traits by which people judge lakes were lacking in Mono: fish could not survive in the salty water, the water was harsh to swim in because of the chemicals and salinity, the scenery was unlike other lakes because there were no trees. Mono Lake appeared to be an isolated lake in the middle of the desert, which DWP could use as they wished. What they hadn't known at the time was the rich history of the lake and the important place it held in the biological world. The geological history of the Western United States has shaped Mono and given it the properties it has, while those properties have given it a specific role in the migration of birds.

The Salton Basin , a below-sea-level depression which extends on the north from Palm Springs , California, to the Gulf of California , in the south. The Salton Sea has undergone historic cycles of filling with water and later drying up. The most recent predecessor to the Sea, that being Lake Cahuilla , last filled this area between 300 to 500 years ago and at one time had a surface elevation above sea level. In 1905 the flooding of the Colorado River was accidentally diverted into the Salton though and thus the Salton Sea was born. When the Colorado River floods retreated in 1907, the surface elevation of the Salton Sea slowly began to drop until the 1930�s when agricultural drainage from the Imperial and Coachella Valleys sustained its level. Soon after , this Sea was turned into a state recreation area, wildlife refuge and a sport fishery. To this day, agricultural drainage and run-off is the major source of water inflow to the Salton Sea.
Boiling Lake is one of the most popular attractions in MorneTrois Pitons National Park. This eerie-looking pool of bubbling, gray-green water lies at the end of a strenuous, three-hour hike through thick forest. But it's worth it. Geologists believe the 63-meter-wide actively boiling lake, the world's second largest, is a flooded fumarole, a crack in the earth allowing hot gases to vent from the molten lava below. The temperature at the edge of the lake ranges from 82-92°C and is at boiling point in the center. After rain, the trail becomes slick and muddy. Guides are highly recommended, (Karen, Hastings).
The Glen Canyon is a better place because of the dam, because now there is way more power for a lot of people. Cause of the dam, more people are able to visit because it is easier to get there. Yes it kind of destroyed part of Glen Canyon but they didn’t just do it for fun. They did it for a reason and that reason was more power.

This very-slightly salty water flows into the oceans. The water in the oceans only leaves by evaporating, but the salt remains dissolved in the ocean, it does not evaporate. So the remaining water gets saltier and saltier as time goes on.
