Media represents males and females by gendering them in different categories. According to the the presentation, the author states, “Media perceives women in a very sexual manner whereas men are symbolized as powerful (). Over and over again, the one thing that the media shows that women are is that they are very sexual and that is it. They show that they are only good for taking care of the home and the man is very powerful. Men are portrayed as a dominance figure. For example, in the article, “Are Men the Latest Victims of Media Misrepresentation”, The author states, “The media industry has tended to characterize men as macho guys, skirt chasers and inept at parenting and relationships. The author also states, “Just What kind of guy is that? Good-hearted, hard-working and self-sacrificing men who are just trying to take care of their friends and families” (Casserly). Men are never shown as someone that is hard-working and self-sacrificing who wants to take care of their family. They are mostly shown as someone who wants their desires met and they do show their emotions because they are macho. On the other hand, women are portrayed by their looks and they are known for house cleaning, cooking, and being there for the men to complete their desires. For example, The author states, “At the very least, advertising helps to create a climate in which certain attitudes and values flourish, such as the attitude that women are valuable only as objects of men’s desire, that real men are always sexually aggressive, that violence is erotic, and that women who are the victims of sexual assault ‘asked for it’ sex object” (,581). They are mostly known for one thing and that is to meet the main man's desire to have sex. It is also to get men's attention and get more viewers to have women to look sexually on their shows or ads so they have more consumers. This also shows a wrong perception of men. They think all men wants to see that and that they are all skirt chasers. Some men are good godly men and they want to be able to watch a good family show that does not show women half naked. Some wants to watch TV where they do not have to change the commercial because women are presented to sell food in a sexual
