Many characters through out stories and books have major differences, but there are a lot of similarities if analyzed. The two characters specifically are the princess from “Lady or the Tiger” and Captain Keller from “ The Miracle Worker”. In “ Miracle Worker”, Captain Keller felt like he was useless in helping Helen and that he could not do anything to help the situation. In the “Lady or the Tiger”, the princess’s love was put on trial and he has to choose one or two doors the lady or the tiger. The princess knew which door contained which and she pointed to one door for him to go into because he trusted her. Captain Keller was skeptical about the way Annie was treating Helen in the “Miracle Worker”. He was going to fire Annie if it wasn’t for her boldness. The princess was over-protective because she knew what door led to the tiger or the lady. So if the man chose tiger, the princess would be over-protective because the princess would not want the man to be with the lady.
The second similarity is that they were both felt like they couldn’t do anything for their love one. After Helen was blind and deaf he couldn’t help her at all. He could not control Helen and so he is stressed a lot of the time. The princess felt like she could not help her relationship. If she lead him to the tiger she would watch her love be slaughtered by it. If he chose the door with the lady he would get married to the person she hates. Either way she loses the man she loves.
The difference that they had was Captain Keller was loving while the princess was barbaric. Even though Captain Keller had hard times with Helen and his family he was still caring. He allowed Annie to stay because he knew that she would be the one who could help his daughter. The princess was totally opposite from that. When it was time for the man to choose the door she might of lead him to the tiger because she didn’t want him to be with the woman. She would rather watch him die then be with the woman that she
