Is it Possible to Live on the Federal Minimum Wage? I made a few simple calculations to see if it would be possible for a single person with no dependents, working forty hours per week to actually live on the Federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour. After comparing income to expenses it did not take long to realize not only would it be difficult, but most likely an impossible challenge. OHHHH!! This sounds good! HAHAHAHA! I like the humor. Other meat is definitely out of the question, unless I grab a burger at McDonald’s once a week or a taco at Taco Bell.
