Minecraft is a sandbox independent video game originally created by Swedish programmer Markus "Notch" Persson and later developed and published by the Swedish company Mojang. The creative and building aspects of Minecraft enable players to build constructions out of textured cubes in a 3D procedurally generated world. Minecraft is a game about breaking and placing blocks to create fantastic creations. In the video game, there are two gameplay modes and these are survival and creative mode. The players who have a dream to become artists and architects are recommended to choose the creative mode. Creative mode is the easiest mode for players to experiment on. There are a lot of unique materials to experiment on. These materials include wood, stone, iron, wool, and even gold blocks. Players can create something any out of this to come up with a unique design. People who aspire to be artists can experiment with colourful blocks like wool, dyed hardened clay, and even gold and diamond blocks. These can be used to make up a pixelated kind of artwork. Sculptures can also be made and to be experimented in the Minecraft world. The people who aspire to be architects can also work freely in the virtual environment. The structures can be made by pure gold, surrounded by lava, or even make the structure upside down. There are a lot of possibilities the design of the infrastructure might look like considering that every material in Minecraft is considered a building material. People can analyse critically if the unique materials can relate to each other and if one does not contradict the nature of the material. By this, if players put together a creation that includes only lava and wooden materials and considering that both of them are close, then the whole creation is ruined since wood is flammable and will burn up if it is exposed to fire or lava. By experimenting with the given resources, it gives players something they haven’t done and try to relate these concepts with their perception of building creations.
