1. Can the Millennial generation be considered a microculture? Millennial generation can be considered a micro culture. Since micro culture is defined as a specialized subgroup, who have the same or similar taste and values, than that makes the Millennial generation a micro culture by a group of people that grew up during the same time period. Also, by Julie hiring a younger person from a different generation shows businesses target different groups. 2. What types of social power, if any, does the Millennial generation hold? The millennial generation holds power from technology. The millennial group has the power to influence consumers by knowledge that they have from using technology. How has social media and group influence helped to define the Millennial generation? Social media has influence the millennial generation by giving them the opportunity to express themselves, share information, and to communicate with others. This is the tech savvy part that makes the millennial generation who they are which includes social media. Lastly, social media influences this group because of their need to stay up-to date and worry about themselves rather than other like the past generations did. 4. What generation has been called the boomerang kids? Why? The generation that were considered the boomerang kids are young adults that were aged around 18 to 34 in the western culture. This generation went to college and than moved back home with their parents or lived on their own and decided to move back in with or lived on their own and decided to move back in with their parents.
