The novel Killer Angels by Michael Shaara describes the events of the Civil War, however, the book is only partially historically accurate. Shaara changes descriptions of events and people in the Civil War, without attempting to completely make it inaccurate. Many of these changes do not influence the version of history that actually took place; however, some do. In the novel, there is a section before the foreword from Shaara that explains why he changed what he did. He explains it by having “... not consciously changed any fact.
