When reading a book, is really hard to get the attention of the reader. Who is interested with hearing once upon a time? For me, I would eater the novel start off with something relatable then ease me into the plot. Life doesn’t always start off as a fairytale so I prefer that my novels don’t either. So while reading this novel, I was evaluating not only the author but the content and if it would live up to the hype.

Having only been educated about this passion through his own reading, he cannot really be sure of what he will discover once he reaches his destination. His beliefs that "snow and frost are banished" from the North Pole seem as eccentric as believing that the earth is flat. But of course he doesn't see it this way, he needs to prove his own theory. After failing at being a poet he doesn't want to fail as a scientist and explorer either. He is confident in his beliefs and will stop at nothing, not even employment as an "under-mate in a Greenland Whaler", to get where he wants to be, and hopefully find what he wants to discover.
In the short essay, “Let It Snow,” by David Sedaris, he recounts the memory of his three sisters and himself being locked out of the house by their drunken mother, on a cold, snowy day. The children are very antagonistic towards their mother, and are willing to do whatever it takes to get the attention they deserve. When is comes down to it, the children realize that no matter how bad they treat their loved ones, They will always have a place for family in their heart.
Brian's Winter is a novel by award winning writer Gary Paulsen. As a result of many letters sent to gary Paulsen by fans of Hatchet and The River, Mr. Paulsen writes this novel in which he pretends Brian is not rescued after fifty four days lost in the woods with only a hatchet. Instead Brian must face the winter alone. Brian discovers flint and makes arrowheads so he can kill larger prey uses rabbit and moose skin to make himself warm clothing and even finds a way to make snowshoes so he will not sink in the snow while hunting Brian's Winter is a "what if" scenario that takes a beloved character back to the woods and shows readers why he survives the woods in the first place.
Imagine a cold, dark, bleak place where a lifeless setting represents the characters in Hunters in the Snow. These hunter go to the same place every year to hunt, but they never find deer, but deer isn’t what they are really looking for. These selfish and insecure hunters are really hunting for approval from one another. In Tobias Wolff’s Hunters in the Snow, the characters are successful in their hunt for a approval because Frank gets his approval for liking a 15 year old babysitter, Tub gets approval for eating a lot, and Kenny gets his approval of salvation.
Tobias Wolff is framing his story Hunters in the Snow, in the countryside near Spokane, Washington, where three friends with three different personalities, decided to take a trip to the woods for hunting in a cold, snowy weather. The whole story follows the hunting trip of these three friends. The reader can easily observe that the cold, hostile environment is an outward expression of how the men behave towards one another. Kenny, with a heart made of ice is rather hostile to Tub, while Frank is cold and indifferent to Tub and his pleas for help.The environment is matching the characters themselves, being cold and uncaring as the author described the two from truck when they laughed at the look of Tub: “You ought to see yourself,” the driver said. “He looks just like a beach ball with a hat on, doesn’t he? Doesn’t he, Frank?”(48). Near the beginning of the story the cold and the waiting surely creates an impact in the mood of the character. Tub is restless from the wait and the cold adds on to it. He complains about being cold and Kenny and Frank, his friends tell him to stop complaining, which seems to be very unfriendly. Wolff builds up the story on the platform of cold weather and the impact of the cold on each character slowly builds up.

He was in love with the goddess of Ice , her name was Lumi ,she governed in the Kingdom of the Frozen Souls , the coldest place of the realm. She was also in love with him . Aithne love for her was unimaginable , but they could not be together because Lumi as the goddess of ice she cannot stand fire at all consequently this cause Aithne to go crazy , he grew a lot of anger in his interior .In a explosion of anger , Aithne told Lumi that he will assassinate anybody who tried to be with her. Several individuals consider real friendship to be when one can put a friend’s needs before their own. In Tobias Wolff’s “Hunters in the Snow”, friendship takes a different turn. In today’s society, a worthy friend is extremely hard to find. Friends need to treat each other with compassion, respect, and kindness. Even if one has a friendship, it may not be a good quality one. In this story, these so-called friends constantly belittle each other, conceal secrets from each other, and do not care about each other’s health. It is a toxic relationship for all that is involved.

Each character lies to himself to accept his actions in his life. Kenny, Frank, and Tub need to successfully fool themselves before they can deceive anyone else. Each of the men are immature and selfish. They don't realize how their decisions impact other people's lives. They justify their lies with their own insecurities about their lifestyles. Their lies impact the situations they encounter and change their lives forever.
“Let It Snow” by David Sedaris is a short story that magnifies the extent in which children might go in order to grab the attention of their parents. It is simply short and it is full imagination that would help the reader what it feels to be a child. Sedaris first gives the reader a sense of imagery when he describes the snow storm that cancels school for him and his sisters. After the reader begins to reread he/she might think that the story will be about a snow day but it takes a sharp turn. The story focuses on the hurt and neglect in which the Sedaris and his siblings went through with their drunken mother with the absence of their father. After being kicked out into the cold by their mother, the children are left to think about their relationship with their parents that has been left in the cold. The writer begins to express his feelings towards his parents, especially his mother by providing various details that keep the reader emotionally interested in the story. People ceaselessly searched for warmth, but my family found that this year, the warmth was searching for us.
I don't believe in magic like Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny. As a fourteen year old it would be a little weird, but the one thing I believe in that gives the holiday season that perfect little twinkle of magic is snow. Snow is like a blank canvas waiting to be imprinted with footprints and played in for hours and hours. Frolicking in the snow makes me feel like the center of the universe, the queen of the world. For this reason I always make time for playing in the snow. Since snow centers me and let's all my worries slip away, snow days are my favorite.
