Introduction Marijuana and its profit have always been beneficial for Mexican Drug cartels role in organized crime. Throughout the last few years laws regarding Marijuana in the United States have become more lenient. These laws are paving the way for Marijuana to be sold legally in shops and fade away from the black market. Prior to this transition, the Mexican Drug Cartels sold cannabis in large amounts to dealers in the United States. Despite the large amounts of Marijuana that Border Protection seized frequently at the border, the cartels would still profit at least 30 percent of income revenue as a result of Marijuana sells. As the years past, Mexican kingpins have come and gone, loyalty has been dishonored, and former unions have been split. The most recent of infamous drugs lords in Mexico include Joaquin “El Chapo” Gunzman and Ismael “El Mayo” Zamaba who both belong to the Sinaloa Cartel. New cartels are taking over since the arrest of these kingpins. This tends to be a repeated cycle. The cartels have extensive control over production as well over the transportation of drugs that come into the U.S. Gang members in the U.S. have ties with Mexican cartels. Mexican cartels are the most powerful and vicious form of gang members in the U.S. Several notorious gangs in the United States are linked to the cartel in some way or form. For instance, the Bloods and Crips were found to be connected to both the Gulf and Zeta cartels, The Texas branch of the Aryan Brotherhood is linked to both the Gulf cartel and the Jaurez cartel, and MS-13 has ties with the Zeta cartel, gulf cartel and the Sinaloa cartel. This information can be verified thru the National Gang Intelligence Center’s 2015 report. The city of Chicago has been reported as a city with lots of drug trafficking ties with the Mexican cartel. The city is the home of one of the largest Latinos populations in the United States. Other cites also have ties with the family.
