For years now it’s been my dream to attend Melbourne High School. My two cousins have attended the school in the past five years and I’ve heard how enriching being part of the MHS community can be. They have both become excellent role models for me and now I wish to experience being part of the school’s tradition for myself.
For me, being an MHS student is more than gaining admittance to the best selective entry school available; it precedes the next chapter of my life. The phrase “more than just marks” perfectly signifies this, as the school has a strong reputation in developing young boys such as me into young gentlemen. I am eager to try rowing, fencing and water polo. This is not all however, because break dancing, debating and Army Cadets are also things that I am keen to involve myself in.
I love learning new languages. I can understand four languages and after learning Italian for a year, I was ranked in the top 10% globally in Language Perfect World Championships 2015.
Music is a passion of mine, this comes with my love for performing on-stage. I play guitar in the School Ensemble and clarinet in the School Concert. I was also proud to be awarded a third place for reciting the Quran (in Arabic) at the Annual Qirath Competition 2014, which is indeed a vocal competition.
After taking up the role of an SRC Rep. and House Vice Captain, I enjoyed them and learnt valuable skills in organisation and public speaking. My confident, respectful and fearless interaction with my peers and teachers has given me confidence in standing tall and expressing my
