Bias in the media
People all around the country watch the news everyday, the same stories the same places day after day. People are oblivious to how media bias is used in every kind of media everywhere; in the newspaper, magazines , and television. Media bias has existed since early media and will exist until it is known about and stopped. People are victims of media bias on an everyday basis without knowing so. Every time they watch the news they fall victim to bias by story selection and many other types of bias. The news has bias all the time, from presidential campaigns to everyday stories; the complete story is supposedly given, but it is not.

This can make choosing who vote for a hard decision , and It should be but not for the reasons that it is; it is hard due to what the media has said, and not because of what the candidates say. In many stories in the media only one side is shown such as when the media will only show one candidate and will leave the others out. Viewers of the media will see primarily the favored candidate of the people not their competitors. This marked the voting process unnecessarily difficult. A candidate’s reputation should not be a deciding factor whether or not to vote for them. The voters should vote for them if they are a good fit to lead the country ( Detecting bias).
Media bias may not be as old as presidential elections, but bias in the media has been around for a long time. Bias in the media has been around for over 150 years. Early journalist viewed themselves as liberals or conservatives. Social conservatives may believe that the government has a role in encouraging or enforcing traditional values or behaviours , as Liberals believe in government action to achieve equal opportunity and equality for all.
