It is no shock that in Catholicism you would find male ordinance. But it is indeed a shock how church is seen has a place with open arms for all and yet have their own form of sexism whether or not you realize it. The days of Jesus (Christ), when Jesus willing chose just men as his apostles rather than women. And this is not because of that women were not capable of because lets face who would have been the best priest by far if it wasn’t Mary? Yet so, in his era religions and the cultural most probably led him to make that decision. Despite all the confusion society had at that time, he made sure that he stated clearly women’s stance and important roles in the church, ( Solenni, 2006). Analysis Culture sometimes asks ethical questions, but for Catholics, culture cannot answer them. Rather, they look at scriptures as the universal foundation in everything they do. But when it comes to the authority of women in the church, it seems that the church is indeed responding to culture rather than interpreting scripture as how they normally would. The truth over all is that when it comes down to scripture it is inevitable to implement some of our own bias to our interpretation and this has to do with our culture. Some of us come from cultures where women are expected to follow rules and limitations men set out and be manipulated for the rest of her life; others come from cultures that enables women to think for themselves and have the ability and opportunity to take leadership roles. Some cultures today are similar to ancient culture in their attitudes about women;
