Marriage is about love not gender. Being in love is when two people whether a man and women or even a man and man or a women and women care about each other enough to be in a relationship or even get to the point where they want to marry. No one should care whether or not someone else is marrying the same sex because it is not their life that they are living in. In March 2005, a San Francisco Superior Court judge ruled on consolidated cases regarding same-sex marriage in California. The court held that the California ban on same-sex marriage violated the state constitution. The California Supreme Court unanimously agreed to review the decision of the appellate court, and it took its time in doing so. On June 3, 2008, the California secretary of state certified ballot proposition 8, which provided simply that: "Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California." Because of the court 's ruling, the State of California began legally performing same-sex marriages on June 16, 2008.In November 2011, the California Supreme Court ruled that state law did allow Prop 8 's supporters to defend it in court. Now only some states are Plowing gay marriage to be legal (Hanson). The defense of marriage act does not prohibit states from issuing same-sex marriage licenses, it set out to accomplish two key issues in regards to marriage. In its ruling, the Hawaii Supreme Court stated that a Hawaii law prohibiting same-sex marriage was unconstitutional and sent the case to a trial court in order to find out if the law could be upheld through compelling state interest. ...o a stable, loving relationship as a marriage to the person they do love. Countries as Catholic as Spain, as different as Sweden and South Africa, and as near as Canada have embraced gay and lesbian marriage without any noticeable effect (Boise).
The argument really comes down to letting adults do as they wish, they are not hurting anybody. Homosexuals getting married really has no effect on anybody but themselves. Although with all the extra weddings, gifts, and honeymoons, it would actually be a good way to stimulate the economy. Most People don’t realize that just because gay people get married doesn’t always have to mean that it’s hurting someone else. Why is it that only some states make same-sex marriage legal? All states should be legal. Everyone should be able to marry anyone of their choice and who cares about other people’s opinions, as long as there happy.
