Marine Biology is focused on many different aspects, giving a variety of different jobs and different pay. There are many locations for this job, ranging from exotic islands in the pacific to the San Diego Maine Center, to South Carolina. Most people only pick one type of focus in this field. There is a huge diversity of the types of jobs you can choose to work for, such as working in a laboratory to learn about ocean organisms and how they react with one another or you can study the potential pharmaceutical products given to us from the ocean. Biological oceanography studies marine species as well, but in the context of oceanography, whereas marine biology studies the ocean along with different salt-water environments. Although there is a difference between these two terms they are usually easily interchangeable. Marine biology requires many different fields of science, including astronomy, biological oceanography, cellular biology, chemistry, ecology, geology, meteorology, molecular biology, physical oceanography and zoology (Marine Life). There are numerous colleges that are recognized for their excellent marine biology courses, such as: Boston University, Duke University, Eckerd College, Oregon State University, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, University of Tampa, University of Hawaii Hilo, University of Maine, University of New England and University of New Hampshire (Wiki Professional). These colleges range from all over the country, making resources accessible. Choosing which college to attend can be very difficult to do, so that’s why an article from National Geographic says, “[Marine biology] includes many different sub-disciplines and, consequently, an array of potential career directions. Would you like to be a microbiologists, an aquarist, a behavioral ecologist, a system analyst, a geneticist, a professor, or perhaps some combination of these? There are many roads to choose from and many organizations that hire marine biologists, so having a fairly precise idea of what you would like to do is an important first step in the right direction”
The movie that shocked thousands of Americans with the secrets of SeaWorld became one of the most talked about movies of its century. Blackfish came out in July of 2013 with shocking evidence of the mistreatment of Orcas, also known as killer whales, and the dangers imposed on the whale trainers. Seaworld is a giant marine life theme park. The greatest attraction to these many theme park would be those killer whales. In fact, these killer whales are the face of the park. As gigant as these mammals are, seaworld is keeping them in some pretty tight quarters. Mr. Jett and Mr.Ventre says “Wild killer whales can swim a hundred miles daily as they socialize, forage, communicate, and breed. In stark contrast, with little horizontal or vertical space in their enclosures, captive orcas swim only limited distances, with most spending many hours surface resting.” The animals don't have the freedom they need. Also when taking the whales out of their natural habit the whales tend to be depressed and not as heath in that situation. They need their freedom in the big ocean blue. Bring them into the small living units, breeding whales in captivity all for the entertainment of humans. At young ages the calves are taken away from their mothers on to a new seaworld park. Mothers of the calves have even been seen denying their offspring.

...ms within. I grew up on the lake, so water will and has always been a part of my life. I go to the beach almost every year, so I am frequently involved with the ocean life as well. My dad is a fisherman; he has been to many places and shown me many unique animals he has caught. I feel that it would be the most interesting job to have because there is a huge ocean to explore. Another awesome part of the job would be the idea of always learning new things about the fish. It would never turn into that job that has the same old routine because discoveries are still being made. The only down side to being a marine biologist is constantly smelling like a fish and dealing with the rather large fish that could endanger my life. But every job is going to have a down side, if these two are the only downsides to having this job, then I would have no problem conquering my fear.

From the bottom of the food webs to the preservations of the environments within, aquariums give people of all ages a hands-on experience and first-look at the mysteries of the ocean. Both the coral reef and the deep sea, though not well known among the general public, is presented in a way that sparks interest, showing the biodiversity in the waters below.

Zoologists are more than just people who work with animals. If it was not for Zoologists and Marine biologists, we would have no clue about animals and their behaviors. They study how animals are in their natural habitats, how they reproduce, the kinds of food they eat and much more. Animals adapt to their homeland and when you take them out of that area it is very useful to know how they behave, so you can mock their environment especially when put into a zoo. Many people overlook the importance of biologists, not knowing what they really do.
Marine biology is the study of marine life in salt water ecosystems. It can also be described as observing how marine species interact with one another. Certain species of underwater plants can affect the environment in which they are put in. Some branches of marine biology study the affects of said plants. There are many branches of marine biology. Many people tend to study dolphins or sharks, since those are the most known marine animal. Only 30% of the world's oceans have been explored. This means that by being a marine biologists, I can have the chance to explore parts of the world that have never been seen before. Not many people are willing to go through the dark places of the oceans. This is what I want to do, because I would be the first one to see what is hidden behind the veil of darkness.
