The curator of the March Field Air Museum is Jeffrey Siebert Houlihan. This might impact how history is present because Jeffrey Siebert Houlihan gets to decide what he wants to convey to the audience. If there a part of history that he is not proud of he can decide to not allow it or it to be worded differently. He is human with his own perspectives on history therefore, he could be bias and convey what he wants to. Letters and mementos were a motivational symbol and helped with the difficulty of the war. In the textbook, it talks about how important letters and mementos were to men at the front during World War II. In the museum, I actually got to read letters from soldiers writing to loved ones. It genuinely made my heart break. It made me realize this was real and that the people at the time did not know if they were going to live another day or if a loved is still living. The March Field Air Museum complimented what we read in our textbooks about the importance of planes in World War I. The textbook states, “Planes began to be constructed to serve various functions: bombers fighters (planes that engage in ‘dogfights’ with other planes), and reconnaissance aircraft” (Brinkley 530). In the museum there was a substantial folder that was suppose to represent a manual that soldiers were suppose to read. The manual helped soldiers get a better understanding of planes.
